View Full Version : Job hunting sites?
I'm out of practice. Any decent job hunting sites out there? I took a gander at Monster and half the "jobs" listed qualify as spam. Most annoying.

Don't bother with Monster. If your city is in Craigslist, try that. Also look for professional organizations that are associated with your job. They generally have job postings on their websites...assuming they have websites.

If you know of companies in your area that may have websights-then they will list job openings on their sights...good luck.

Personal networking and headhhunters are the best way to go if you're serious about looking for a job.
I heard once that less than 10% of jobs are acquired through newspaper ads or online search services like Monster. That probably depends on the type of position they were analyzing.

When my son was looking for a job (IBM layoffs)..he went through a "workforce" committee thingy..they told him that 98% of resumes and applications sent via websights and email are disregarded because there is JUST TOO MANY to look at. How about the old fashioned way of actually leaving your house to look for work.
