sorry for the double post but does anyone have any opinions about these 2 cameras?

Before anyone starts flaming.. i'm not a camera person, nor have I ever claimed to have any knowledge of the sort...
I'd personally go with the 100, it has the 6x dig zoom, whereas the 150 only has 2x, and I wouldnt use it as a video camera.
It appears that the 100 would be more suited for still pictures, it has slightly slower shutter speed, 3 times better digital zoom, and is lacking in features for movies, etc. when compared to the 150.
The battery on the 150 is probably much better, but likely doesnt make much difference when you're only doing pictures. I dont know though, seems like it to me.
As far as the difference between a 5.1 and a 7.2MP camera, I've personally never seen a 7.anything MP image, which really would only show much of a difference when you are resizing your picture because you want to zoom in on something. Which, you can easily do on the fly with the 6x digital zoom on the 100. I'd go with the 100, it'll likely suit your needs quite well, unless you're doing movies. In that case, forget what I've said, and go with the 150.

You might see if you can find them here: http://www.dpreview.com/ or here: http://www.imaging-resource.com/DIGCAM01.HTM
Without the brand, I am unfamiliar with those two cameras, but the larger MPs should give you a sharper image, although you will not notice them at normal sizes (up to say 8x 10) of printing- most people will not pring larger than that. They both list the same battery number so battery life will depend on the electronics and your own actual usage. As far as digital zoom, I would not consider that as a feature. All it does is make the pixels larger so I would shoot without it and rely on editing the shot later to zoom in further if necessary. The optical range is more important. Sounds like the 150 may have more features giving you more flexibility in shooting as you get more familiar with the camera. What are the most important features to you and which one does it better?

after carefully reading the reviews on dpreveiw and http://www.imaging-resource.com/DIGCAM01.HTM and comparing it side by side...The P-150 is the way to go for me. Battery life and picture quality and the camera size is really important to me. The P-150 is also slightly lighter then the P-100 so thats a plus for me. I'm just hoping i'll be making the right choice to go with the P-150. But then again there is always a return it if i don't like it.

They just anounced the release of the next upgraded version of this, the P200 to be released in February. Says it includes a larger LCD. http://www.dpreview.com/news/0501/05010602sony_p200.asp
You might wait and check it out or see if prices drop on the P150 in responce to it.

i don't mind waiting for a while to see if the prices go down. i'm pretty sure the features they have on the P-150 they will have on the P-200.
