Nikon/Epson Amazon deal

FYI all. I saw the deal this morning for the amazon nikon 5400 and the espon printer deal. I made this purchase but it put them on separate orders. The epson rebate specifically says they MUST be on the same date on the same receipt. I called epson and they said that if i wrote an explanation on the receipts that it was purchased at the same time and date that it would be ok. I also printed out the email confirmation which shows that these items were placed at the same time. I also email amazon to verify with them about this as well as their 70 buck gift card. Will this still apply?, since you must purchase 500 or more on ONE order to get the 70 bucks. The nikon camera is techincally 499.99. I think everything will be ok but use caution when purchasing because there is a chance that i may not get the 99 dollar rebate for the printer since. If i dont i will go ape on epson.

So go into this with the knowledge that the rebate on the printer is a little shaky thru amazon. Granted the rebates on the camera and printer are not exclusive to amazon but you dont get the 70 buck gift card thru anyone else i have found.

I just got off the phone with amazon and this does NOT qualify for their 70 dollar gift card. And since the rebate was a little shady thru amazon i canceled and purchased thru buy.com. Its 27 bucks more but you get a free accessory kit with it. You still end up paying a tad more but i feel better knowing i WILL get the rebate for it. So you might want to update the web site.

Also canceling thru amazon is a b*tch. They had already shipped the printer and i had to call the thrid party vendor to cancel. So i have to refuse the shipment from amazona and luckily the third party vendor was able to cancel the order. Amazon gave me a 20 dollar gift card for all the trouble.

The reason it did not qualify for the gift card was that it was not purchased from Amazon but thru amazon to a thrid party vendor. If for some reason it will come from amazon directly then it would qualify. But i think thats highly unlikely at this point.

Hmm.. When I posted the deal, Amazon was the vendor. It seems to be that they either pulled the deal or it's out of stock on their end.

As i stated before its still a good deal. On buy.com they give you a "Free" accessory kit, 50 dollar value, BUT the camera is like 29 more dollars. I have always liked buy.com more then amazon anyways. I still think the deal is worth posting, but maybe add the fact that the camera needs to come from amazon and not a third party vendor. And/or put buy.com's price on there. Buy.com didnt charge me shipping on the printer but amazon did, so it was not totally "free" shipping.

FYI I am a daily gotapex reader. Every morning when i get to work the FIRST thing i do is hit my homepage hotkey on my keyboard that takes me right to gotapex. :) You guys saved me tons of money on everything from printers to laptops. Liek the 50% off the dell inspiron laptop deal. That was awesome. I got a 9100 inspiron, a 1700 dollar retail for 850.
