Are computer games the only ones you play, or do you still play other kinds of games?

What genre do you prefer?

Post types of games and some of their names...

I like the convenience and animation of GOOD computer games.
Some of the video games these days are pretty tedious.
I still have fun getting together with the game a few times a year for (board) game night.
And an occassional card night is fun too.
As for sports, I wish my friends would get together for flag football again--I need to work off some of these holiday pounds.

I only like computer and video games. When I'm not playing games, I'm browsing the internet.. and when I'm not on the computer, I am at school or sleeping. :D

I voted all the above. Consoles are nice, but its hard some days to get a group together. Also the challenge of setting up card games and board games. Internet games allows for easy group play, but i dont like having to upgrade my system daily to do well. So i like old school counter strike or civ 3 or something chill like that that lest us all play together even with the older stuff.

I guess I'm not surprised that a bunch of computer-forum visitors would like computer games, but I'm a bit surprised that not everyone said "all."

So what types of games do you all like?

Action games, shoot-em-up, adventure, competition, mystery, solitaires, multi-player internet, etc?

All of those...especially if "other" is mind games. :)

I like playing all kinds of games. Trivial Pursuit, Scrabble, Taboo, all those games are awesomely fun. I do play computer games but I'd much rather play a board game with some good friends. One of my favorites is Facts in Five, it's a REALLY REALLY REALLY old game, maybe some of the old folks around here remember it.

anyone remember space invaders?
I once taught my class how to write once of those in VB6! It was decent fun for a 3.5 hour class.

Scrabble I don't enjoy, but Speed Scrabble I think is fun.

If memory serves, each player receives 16 random tiles. At the start signal, you flip over 8 of the tiles and try to arrange them into interconnected words (using all the tiles). Once you do that, you call it out and everybody turns over another tile (so each person is working with 9). It continues until each player has all 16 tiles face up, and whoever arranges them into interconnected words first wins. A lot more frantic, and it's not about making high score words, just making words with whatever letters you are dealt.

Me too, but my girlfriend thinks that game is a lot of baloney...

That sounds like fun!

My biggest issue with regular scrabble is the dictionary that you use. I think there should be a list of "common" words that 80% of the population can recognize, and those are the only valid words--none of these 6-letter words with no vowels or the ones that have Q without a U or those that include Q, J and Z in a single 7-letter word that nobody ever heard of--not even the person putting it down!

Just bought Antigrave for PS2. Very good. Definitely takes some getting used to but very fun at the same time.
