i dont know if this belongs in hardware or off topic but...
i recently read a review on the new x850xt plat. it had a lot of stats on the new card, but it also mentioned another new card they're putting out, the x800xl, which is supposed to counter the 6800gt. radeon cards have been raking in a lot less money since the newest cards have been released. now, radeon seeks to loose their attitude and need to be on top, and they are releasing the x800xl at a price 100$ less then the gt, hoping to win over buyers who are looking for a good card at a good price.
anyone have any comments about this?

Good move by ATI presuming they can match the performance of the 6800GT. Lately nVidia's been really closing in on them as far as market share was concerned, whereas in the days of R9x00 series ATI pretty much had the edge. I suppose ATI's doing what it can to try and retain their owner loyalty.

From what I know, ATI could make new chips cheaper now thus the price break on new cards.
