Official City of Heroes Thread

I didn't wanna keep adding to the "costume" thread... so I figured I'd just start an "official" one for anyone who want's to talk CoH.

So far, my primary Dark Melee/Dark Armor Scrapper has made it up to Level 32 now... and man, the going is gettin' rough.

With the release of "Issue 3", they've made the bosses even harder than before and some of them can even one shot me now. :eek: Man... and I used to think I was a "badass"... yup we were definitely humbled with the roll out of I3.

If only they would allow me to stack my armor like some of the other archtypes can. I just can't fight a group that can do mixed damage like someone who can put me to sleep and/or hold me while another in the mob beats me with smashing/leathal damage. Kinda like double jeapoardy for me...

So... does anyone else have some good stories about being on CoH? If you're every on the Justice server, give me a holler... my character name is DarkFury. (and don't forget the period at the end... or you will be talkin' to someone else :D )

Hopefully there are folks out there that are playing... :D

gosh...if I had taken up MMORPGs sooner than two days ago, I would have played CoH. Sorry dude, I can only handle one MMORPG at a time :)

haven't played for about six months because of a move and work-related reasons, but now that i'm settled again, as soon as i get high speed internet set up here, i'll probably be back on... but i mostly played on Liberty server...

Yup...still playing on Protector. lvl 36 fire/fire blaster. And believe me....I feel your pain on the bosses....being a squishy, is just not a good thing when it comes to bosses.

I just got my two special event badges...and the snowball it came with! :) I love throwing snowballs at people! :)

I don't have time to play much.....so I just lvl at a slow pace.

I quit and cancelled my account at Level 42. The game got REALLY boring.

I haven't been able to find the dayuum "Winter King" to get my snowball...

Although... last night I saw the "Ghost ship" for the first time and fought some of the "spectral passengers". I see that there is a badge for fighting them too. :hihi:


Sorry to hear that Memo... I'm sure having a blast playing and interacting with others on CoH... sometimes, it's just the comraderie that makes the game fun (that and the ever elusive task of keeping from accruing more and more debt. :hihi: )

The Winter King is in all the hazard zones. I've encountered him most in Eden at Founders Falls. But...I think you need to be 35 to get in there. I've also gotten him at Faultline and reports of Perez. So yeah....hope that helps. I would like to see that ghost ship and fight those ghosts so that I can get that badge.

Yeah... I found the Winter Lord in Terra Volta and got the badge. He's a level 25 there..

In Crey's Folly, he's a 37 Lvl monster... and that one hurt us really bad... Note to self... don't mess with the Winter Lord in CF until I am over level 40. /endnote.

(Note: I am currently a 34 now... slowly makin' my way up the ranks)

BTW... yesterday, they finally gave Dark Armor the ability to stack protections. Whoo hoo... now I can fight without worring about some mesmerist sneakin' up behind me and putting me to sleep (and dropping my defenses in the meantime).

All Dark Armor Scrappers out there probably raised a collective prayer from this gift from the Devs... Dark Armor is gonna be FUN to play with now. :D

Heh... I just finished the "Eden Spire" trial last night at level 41....

Man... that Crystal Titan was a mofo. Thank goodness for ambrosia :thumb:


Note to self... when doing trials and task forces, be sure to remind everyone to set there reputations to "Heroic" and not let them keep higher difficulty reps... oh the death that ensues of you don't do that. :eek:

I put in like 3 - 4 hours every night... and moreso on the weekends. :D

However the "Abandoned Sewers" with "Kraken runs" are the key to quick leveling between 36 - 42. :thumb:

I wish I could watch a vid of one of you guys play this game that way I would know what you are talking about. I am not familiar with this type of game so I don't know if the guys you are fighting are other people on the net, part of the game, or what :confused:

I LOVE my character now... he is such a badass now.

After they fixed Dark Armor's multiple shields issue and made FEAR work properly, I pretty much can fend for myself in most given situations....

I can even keep the Kraken cowering in FEAR as everyone beats him... dropping his damage accuracy to like 25%... pretty much we nullify him.

Needless to say... people love to have me on their Kraken teams... that and the fact that I have Recall Friend to teleport them through the sewers and to the bottom of the Kraken mish to keep them from drawing all that aggro. :D

I have two jobs, so I can only spend maybe 2-3 hours a day when I get a chance to play. Of course, if I had a woman, I'd probably devote a little less time to it...but since I'm single at the moment, I generally play every night. :)

And you don't have to "keep up". This is the first online RPG I've ever bought, mostly because of the fact that all the reviews I read (and people I talked to) said that it was the perfect RPG for people who DIDN'T spend every waking hour playing. Read the review at gamespot...it explains how.
