So, trip was great. We timed traveling just right between storms. It did rain the whole time I was in the STL area. I showed Donnie around the area since he hadn't been there before. Took the kids to the science center in STL. I backed Donnie's new truck (that we haven't even made a payment on yet) into a telephone pole that hasn't moved since I have been alive. Saw a lot of family (mom rented out the community center for a "reunion" of sorts) Kids had fun and that was the main reason we went. Planning for mom to come out in May for Audie's first Communion and for them to bring out my nephew next August to take him to Disneyland. :)

Got home Sunday morning 7 AM (left OKC Saturday morning), exhausted. I felt warm and didn't think anything of it (we drove from OKC to LV straight through). Monday and Tuesday, I couldn't swallow and my fever hit 104 both nights. Feeling better today. Fever is down and I can eat.

I am glad I got sick here and not there though. I wouldn't have been able to see my Aunt Rhonda. She has cancer and is very vunerable right now her stage of treatments and cannot be around sick people or smoke etc.

i am surprised you couldn't see your Aunt. couldn't you have not gotten real close or maybe worn a surgical mask?

Oh I saw her. I didn't get sick until I sat on my couch here in Vegas :)

But Rhonda was recovering from being sick herself and any additional exposure would be risky with what she is going through. At least that is how mom explained it.

My mom and sisters (and her one brother) are really close and Rhonda is the youngest. She was actually adopted by my Granny from her oldest Daughter. (so I guess technically Rhonda is my cousin?) Rhonda just a couple years ago found out who her biological dad was. He died a year later from cancer.

I guess we could have worn masks if needed -- mom mentioned it. But she also mentioned that no one else wanted to be sick either :rolleyes: after we were home. I guess just extra precaution.
