I signed up for the $26.95 deal last July and I was wondering if my bill is going to increase this July when my year is up. Has anyone run into this yet? Did they make you sign up for another year in order to get the same rate?

I want to make a pre-emptive strike if I can (call ahead, or plan on switching services).

Pretty much if you re-up for another year, they'll let you keep the discounted rate....

At least they did that for me. :thumb:

My uderstanding is that it will automatically increase to $49.95. I think if you call ahead and tell them you plan to switch, they will honor the current "deal."

However, I too am curious if they will make you sign up for another 1 year term in order to get the promotional rate again.

You do have to sign up for another year. If you don't pay atention to the timing and get your first bill for $49.95, just give them a call and sign up for a new year and ask them to credit youf for that last month. They will usually do that.

Also, FYI, if you are half way through a year and they drop the price a few bucks for new sign ups, just call them and ask if you can get the new price by committing for a year (from that point, not added on to your existing contract). They let me do that last year when the price went from 29.95 to 26.95.

I signed up w/ SBC a really long time ago & have been paying $49.95 for years. Do you think they'll let me sign up for the $29.95 plan or am I out of luck? Curious if anyone's had this experience.
