We have one of these in the shop this week, I was going over some of the repairing guidelines with the body technician, when I stumbled across this; They recommend the vehicle be driven for at least 30 minutes a month, failure to do so can reduce battery life by half, and also cause permanent damage. You would think that if your going away for any length of time you could plug it in somehow for trickle charging. Someone goofed...

Although, in the fine print, it says that if it is not serviced regularly and document by Honda certified technicians the warranty can be void, LOL. That's one way to keep you coming back...

i don't think it is a matter of charging rather than a matter of discharging. they want the battery to be drained and used, not sit idle. though if you don't drive your car for 30 minutes a month, you shouldn't own a car.

With that logic, how will old folks ever get around anymore?

Most of them shouldn't be driving anymore in the first place. I know public transportation in the US sucks but they could try bus/subway.

Anyone remember the old lady driving the tank of a car in Ferris Bueller? There should be a law that forces older people to reassess their driving skills after a certain age. I guess some would claim it is descrimination though.
