I need to get an alignment for my truck (toyota tacoma). Can someone give me information on what I should ask when looking for places to get it done. I don't want to get ripped off (price wise) or not have it done right.

Is the truck tracking strait, or does it pull to one side, needing to correct the steering wheel? You really nee to be on a very strait and flat surface to determine this, most city road ways are crowned to help water drainage, this will always cause the vehicle to veer to the right, unless your driving in England (that's for you smart a$$e$) A good test would be to get on the highway center lane to determine this. Are the front tires wearing incorrectly? This can be determined by looking at the front tires and inspecting to see if the sides of the tires are wearing. Is your tire pressure properly inflated on all four wheels, incorrect pressure on one wheel can also cause this front or rear. There are a lot of variables, why do you think you may need an alignment?

When was the last time your wheels/tires were balanced?

The place I go to in LV charges $60-80 for a full alighnment ($50 just for thrust), and will usually discount the wheel balance since they have to take them off anyway.
