Early morning yesterday I was greeted by a LOUD beeping sound. My APS was tripped and all the power was dead in the house. Apparently someone knocked down a powerline near my house!
Among the dead:
My Secondary Computer
Xbox
Gamecube
Cablebox
Print Server
Sad so sad... :(

ouch...
Let's all have a moment of silence for the xbox and the gamecube.
...
thank you.
So how does a power outage fry those things, even if behind an APS?

Hey now...
I'm assuming the PC was behind an APS....not the other items. You didn't even have them on a surge protector?
:shifty:
(goes to find surge protector for my GameCube...)

Yes, PC was behind an APS, but the secondary computer was not, it has a dead powersource, replaced the dead powersource and wah la, no more dead computer... As for the Gamecube and Xbox, they were just surge protector strip. Strip is dead and so are the consoles. Weird though, PS2 is fine even though they were all on the same surgestrip.
Just goes to show, ps2 is a little more tolerant of power spikes.

A power strip is different from a surge protector I would think. All my stuff I think it's on UPS or surge.

Pst, A think all those but maybe the cable box are powerd by power supply. Just replace the PS and you'll be in buisness.
