8 dead pixels seems like a lot. I bought a 20" LCD last year which had just one dead pixel in the center of the screen and it was very noticeable. Tweeter refunded my money after I returned it. It was only 600 X 480 resolution, though.

Last year I bought a 19" LCD for a client of mine and did a ton of searching around for the pros and cons of LCD monitors. ( i prefer good ol 900lb CRT )
but yeah, I found that the general consensus amongst companys/manufacturers on the Dead Pixel Policy was 7 pixels before they would replace it.
I've never had a problem with the monitor I purchased other than stupid WMD driver insanity.
But yeah, compared to the 7 I noticed LAST YEAR, 8 seems sorta high.
However, with most things you get what you pay for. I think the more you pay, the less likely you are to run into dead pixels on arrival, and/or the exchange policies are kinder.

Just wondering - the page on the Samsung doesn't state the refresh rate. Do you know what it is?
