My wife's 97 200SX has had a slow external oil leak for more than a year. Last month, I took it in to have it fixed, at a price tag of ~$400. Today I learned that since they fixed the slow leak, the timing case and cap (or something like that) is leaking oil, much faster now-about a 1/2qt a week!

The car runs great, has excellent tires, body, interior, clutch, etc.

I figure my options are:

1. Try to get something for it in trade and buy a cheap newer car
2. Keep dumping oil (20-50 now) into it every weekend and hope my landlord doesn't find out and fine me.

Am I missing something?

oil leaks can be fixed but they are not cheap. like you've found, once you fix one leak, another can pop up. see what you can get for trade, that might be the best way to go.

i had another idea. do you have complete coverage on it? it sure would beb a shame if it was stolen in Vegas and never found. I'm not advocating insurance fraud or anything like it. No, nothing of the sort. :hihi: :D
