In the 4 yrs I have been dating mcs328 I have received roses once - and once when we fought he got me some random bouquet. I have never thought he would actually get me 2 dozens long stem red roses and have them sent to my work...imagine my surprise. I was so touched I cried like a baby for all to see...I wanted to say Thank You honey for remembering and giving me this wonderful sweet surprise. :neartears :love2: http://www.jennyrarden.us/smilies/hug.gif

Poor MCS328. How's he going to top that for the 14th? :disa:

forgot to mention this is for Valentine's Day - early that's all - you know it is a lot coming from a guy that hates Valentine's Day.

I'm going to raid other people roses when they're not looking and stuff them in my car and use the petals as a carpet. Duh!!

Actually one dozen is for her and the other dozen is for backup because her green thumb is more like Mother Natures cold frosty finger of wintry death. I'm kidding!!! Lol...well there goes my brownie points out the window. :wavey2:

he's prolly been on your a$$ because of all the stuff you've been getting from overstock and he gave them to you to apologize.

I made sure it had my name on it this time. Somehow when things like this happen I'm not on the top 25 list of suspects. :dead:

She's like an Overstock.com junkie...it's quite scary.

/me gives husband dirty looks.

My hubby only got me flowers once. And it wasn't even flowers, it was A flower. A carnation on mother's day when we first started dating. *sigh* I'm jealous!

Well I used the link on the Deals page. Searched through their selection. Ordered and endured a few weeks of you never do this and that and keeping my mouth shut. Ah the tears...so sweet...Mmmm...let me taste those tears of joy...Mmmm...yummy. I did mine early though...free vase or 20% off but not both depending on your selection.

haha

That's great angl2b :)

Scott got me flowers regularly when we were "dating". We saw each other almost every weekend (since we lived in different towns), and he would have a flower or two almost every time we saw each other. It was great. :) Now, I get them occasionally, usually on Vday, Mother's Day or when Josh is with him and says, Hey dad, we should get mommy flowers. lol

But, ya know, after 8 years of marriage, I realized that he does so many more things for me that flowers aren't necessary. He isn't really a demonstrative man. But when he lets me sleep in and takes Josh to school, or cooking dinner all the time because he knows I hate to cook, taking special care to de-ice my car for me in the morning (like this morning, even when he took Josh to school in the other car, but that way it would be at least partly de-iced when I had to go pick Josh up...). The little things like that make me realize how much I'm loved and I wouldn't trade all the roses in the world for that. :)

Wait, so married men can get away with NOT giving flowers and chocoloate? Why didnt someone tell me this before I did my shopping!

BTW, this year Godiva's sweepstakes is for 52 pairs of manolo Blahnik shoes, 52 boxes of chocolate and a trip for 2 to NYC to pick out your shoes and chocolate!

They even added a second place (First prizes) which is 4 pairs of Manolo Blahnik and 8 boxes of chocolate.

Not quite the 2 cars or diamonds, but if she wins still nice.

mcs328 gets me not nagging him tonight - (maybe) but he will get lots of smiles from me - the stupid looking ones too. Yes Jenny you are right it is the little sweet things we take for granted and forget that its those things that counts not flowers - but you know I have been averaging flowers every 1.5 years now.... lol.....
ufcrusher - spending money now is going to seem like nothing - after you get married (even on your wedding day) the dent in your bank account is going to be so much worse...lol....

I get my wife flowers about 3-4 times per year. I used to get her flowers at least once a month but she told me to knock it off.

Huh? I think that you did not understand what I wrote. My point was simply that just because you are married does not give you free license to not give gifts. Hence my remark about not being given that information before I went shopping [for my wife was implicit in my statement].

As for your latest comment, after spending enough to buy a nice sports car on a wedding, these little expenses should seem like nothing....not the other way around.

hmm - I am not very articulate - but that's what I meant - didn't know you were married (stupid me) I thought you were talking about buying something for your girlfriend....oops...my bad...sorry..

so its day 2 and I have 4 wilted roses out of my 2 dz. - I decided to call proflowers to see if by chance they can just replace the 4 - I know sounds stupid of me - but its from mcs328 and I want to so badly dry them and keep them always...so I called. To my great surprise the guy looks up my order and goes "oooh you have a very nice order - 2dz long stem red roses" I was like - yes I do :) - he then proceeded to ask me what was in the original shipping what came with and so forth and they are replacing I think the entire order and my free vase that came with the original and it's being delivered tomorrow. I highly recommend ProFlowers - I think that is great service and the customer rep. was very polite and really sweet too! :love2:

Glad to see I'm getting my moneys worth being the cheap a$$ I am the rest of the year. Well on Day 1, there was one that came broken. So 23 good ones and one in a cup. So this is Day 3 and four roses are dying...is kinda of disappointing. Doesn't bother me really because I did get the extra dozen in case that happened anyways.

If they replace them then I like to thank Proflowers and GotApex for the link to a great company (*HINT HINT* Can I get a G|A shirt now??? *wink wink*) :)

well being a guy that mcs328 is - since he isn't the girl on the receiving end he wouldn't know the feeling. Regardless of how the flowers came - the fact is the thought and he did it is what's making the girl smile - the bonus in this situation is that they are replacing it - I only called cause I wanted to dry them and 4 are wilted so I called. That is the only reason I called otherwise I wouldn't have. I am still very pleased. :)

Yo mcs, make sure she saves them even after they die (by hanging them upside down to dry or something)... so it'll be remembered and you'll get credit for it later.

just received my roses- they are waaaaay much better than the first ones I got  - the roses are in buds - most of them - and they are beautiful - very very tight wrappings - I am very very very pleased - even the vase matches the picture that was shown in the picture :kawaii: :thumb:
