I just got my "flowers" from Proflowers.com (the banner company on the main page-$19.99 plus $10 shipping)
These are terrible! The buds are no larger than nickels! (penny shown in the blurry pic) Two of the buds fell off in the box it was shipped in! I have never seen such a pathetic, wilted display. Luckily, I intercepted them before my wife came home to set them up.

UPDATE: After calling proflowers.com (and being on hold for 12minutes), they are sending out replacements tonight, so I should still a nice bouquet by Monday. CSR: Chris was great. I just hope this new batch is in better shape than the mess I just got. :|

Don't take no bs from no one. Let us know if they make it all right.

I've only ordered from them twice, and I've always had a great experience.
You are completely in the right though. Those are horrible flowers. I would assume they are going to comp you the costs of the new flowers?

i'm surprised for the bad flowers from them. all of my previous experiences with them (3 or 4) have been wonderful.

They are sending another batch from a different grower. Hopefully, they will be good. If not, I'll ask for my $ back, but their CSR was really nice, so I'll give them a shot at redemption.

I'm sorry you had bad luck with ProFlowers. I've been giving flowers from them to my girlfriend (and now wife) for about 4 or 5 years. She's had nothing but good things to say about them.
And their CS has always been exceptional, so i don't doubt you will have a better experience with the new flowers.

my second batch came like that - nothing broken this time - but they are still in buds - that's how they advertise it - the first batch was bad though as I had stated on my other thread - however their turn around service was incredible. I hope that you get a very good batch this time around too...I can sympathize.

Replacements are much better. No wilted petals, and they are a little larger than the previous batch. At the end, though, I think I'll stick with local grocery store flowers from now on.
That's good. They did the right thing.

Costco is the way to go - 2 dozen for less than $20 (assuming you don't need them delivered)

This thread actually made me rethink where I was going to buy roses for my wife. I sure appreciate the "heads up". Costco sounds like a great idea.

Where is this Costco deal everyone keeps talking about! I've been to 4 of them over the past week and can't find ANY deal even remotely close to that... I'll just grab some from my backyard, they're bound to look better than the ones from Proflowers!

uh oh thats bads news. I ordered flowers from proflowers, not those though.
supposed to be delivered today, 14th, but the tracking say this:
Feb 12, 2005 6:00 am EDISON NJ Pre-routed meter pkg picked up
Feb 11, 2005 9:49 pm EDISON NJ Left FedEx Origin Location
So i ordered flowers in Boston, and they were packed on the 11th, in new jersey??? what the heck, man those flowers better not be dead and crappy. Also it said they should be there by 3pm today... 3:49 now.. not there yet hmmm.
Might be calling CSR tonight and getting me some free flowers!
Used them tons of times before and everything went perfect...

GAM may move this to the suckage forum if this continues.... :heh:
we were happy to promote pro flowers because we've heard great things about them in the past... until now, so now i'm very surprised and concerned.
if there's anyone else here that has concerns over the quality of their flowers or about ordering from them, email me and i'll get them over to the appropriate people at pro flowers. if there are others that end up getting jacked up flowers from pro flowers, please do not hesitate to let me know.
bires, please do let me know how your replacement flowers turn out for you.
thanks guys.

suckage indeed...
just called proflowers... then they called fedex.. fedex can't find them. So i had them refund my purchase & send out new flowers on wed. Free flowers, but i wanted them to be there today to suprise her :(
CS guy was very nice and helpful though. I pretty much said "I want you to send free flowers and refund my purchase" and he was like "yep sure, no problem"

Good idea.
The replacements were much better. Larger buds, not wilted, and none of them had fallen off. The second batch was fed-exed overnight. Still, I most likely won't use them again. The locals sell better flowers for less money.

Proflowers delivered flowers for one of my friends today. The flowers were all but destroyed. I told him about this thread, and he is going to call Proflowers.

Pro Flowers is aware of those of you on this thread and is looking into why they were damaged from the growers. Because we've always had nothing but great reviews about their products and service, I'd like to request that those of you who were not satisfied with your orders who purchased through the Got Apex site to please send me a quick email with an order or confirmation number. This may be an issue with a batch that got sent out on a certain day (or something else?) and they're trying to get to the bottom of it.
Thanks.
LivininSC, the Costco thing people are talking about isn't so much a deal really... it's just that they charge the same amount for their flowers year-round. So while other florists pump up their prices this time of year (as demand rises, they can raise prices and people will still buy), places like Costco charge the normal amount even right around VDay.

I thought everything at Costco came in even 100's !!
300 taco shells, 100 red vines, 200 pairs of socks.
Just kidding, but it amazes me how at times we all think we're saving money when we buy more of something at Costco than we every dreamed of just because the per unit price is low. They got us don't they. :)
PS Excuse the rant, but...I'm low on self control - It's Valentines Day!

Well- I had sent flowers to an Aunt and it was arrived fairly timely around probably 11:30 AM? I went to the store to see them - and I was quite disappointed - I think what comes to mind is wildflowers - something I could of picked off myself - is the best way to describe it- my heart sank when I saw the flowers. The flowers were dried on the edges and one was broken - I did feel slightly cheated - and was disappointed that it came the way it did - I do think these two experiences alone might make me rethink about purchasing from them again. I think that it is a bit much work for me if i have to go to every place I send flowers to, just to make sure if it is a good or bad batch of flowers sent. I think that when we purchase flowers we all have this high standard cause that's what's suppose to make them different from grocery store flowers and such. I have nothing but great praises to the customer service however - I had called for a refund this time - and didn't even want to bother with the second replacement and such - now I am just worried about the other order I had sent to my bestfriend. :disa:

sorry to see all of that guys. i got flowers for my fiancee from the LA flower mart yesterday through a friend who has a hook up. $18 for a dozen red roses with 3 big lillies in the arrangement, a vase, and baby's breath. LA flower mart rules!

Well i dont know guys i have always used proflowers in the past and i have had nothing but great flowers, although this time around instead of it being fedex shipped, it came via UPS.
But you know what spending the extra time to go to a local flower shop and picking them yourselves is better, as well as going to Costco they are mad cheap.
Im sorry for the rest of us that got a bad bunch. Although ProFlowers are great with customer service so well see, but next year im going to research before i buy.

I had the same ****ty experience with Proflowers last year. The shipment was delayed and I ended up with a pack of dead roses. I also opted for the local flower shop this year.

i ordered roses for my parents as a thank you after i graduated - i got them from overstock and they were gorgeous... but yeah, sometimes those online flower places can be sucky... the first valentines that mike and i shared, he ordered red roses from Kabloom and they sent white ones which basically means death in many cultures
yeah, so ordering flowers online makes me a littler nervous

i sent my mom flowers once from kabloom and she loved them.
Ha, on the way home from school I saw a package from ProFlowers.com laying on the neighbors door mat. I couldn't help but laugh how bad they were gonna be if they were sent like the ones pictured in the original post AND had sat there all day in the 80 degree weather.

Just a note for people, I have ordered from proflowers about 6 or 8 times. Great flowers all but one, and that time I called and got free flowers like everybody else.
But besides that one time, great flowers and i mean GREAT flowers the rest of the time.

I ordered the 48 petite roses for my mother through the Gotapex link from Proflowers. She received the flowers on time on Feb 11, but none of them bloom as of a week later. (She said the flowers looked dead on arrival!)
Thank you for this forum, at least I know I am not the only one getting bad flowers. I just called them and Proflowers said they will send new ones out. My mom and I are both kind of bumped. Hope the new roses will be better.
Nice time I think I will pick a local florist. (I lived on the East Coast and my mom on the West, so will be hard to go to Costco to pick up one. Wish I can do that.)

I've been dealing with pro-flowers for years. The very first set of flowers they sent me were moldy with an infestation of some horticulture critters. I called them, and yes, I was on hold as well, and they sent me a new set of flowers for free. they did the right thing and they didn't give me any headach about it. Since then, I've sent a lot of business through them and they have never let me down. they last longer and are more fresh by and large look better.
Cheers

on arrival because they are still in "buds" for the most part so they look kinda crappy - but they do bloom in a few days- you have to change water on them often - cut the stems at an angle to maintain the roses. Make sure the leaves aren't below the water line or really in the vase - this prevent bateria stuff ... most florists send you flowers that are already bloomed - don't expect that from proflowers- they state it on thir site somewhere that their flowers come in buds.

well my gf got her 2nd replacement flowers today (first set just never arrived... it went MIA) and they upgraded them to long stem for me, she said they were wonderful and very beautiful. Good to hear.
I've never had many problems with them before, and they were very good about fixing it. I'd go to a local place but around here the prices are nuts. The local place by me was charging $80 last year for a dozen..

You know - I had originally wanted to continue buying from ProFlowers and stuff - but I am never buying from them again. My bestfriends flowers (potted roses) arrived - dried out, near wilting, browning petals. I called them and wanted BOTH redelivery and a refund - but got a really rude customer rep. and I was informed one or the other - that's fine by me 3/3 all crappy - refund it is no more business to them from me or anyone else I know. :censored:  :pfft: :mad2:

well - situation resolved - proflowers resent the flowers - my bestfriend received the correct order this time around - they are so much more fresher - so muh prettier that even her bf approved - so there is one more that is suppose to be received today - so we will see how it goes - so far it looks good for proflowers again .... for that I am pretty happy - :woohoo: I will update the other delivery when it arrives to its destination. *EDIT*
It arrived to its destination and EVERYTHING was fresh, and the best part is the compliments on the beautiful flowers- the happiness in their voices when I talked to them. I am very pleased indeed. :wavey2:
