I've got a proposal. Instead of gambling your money away at Vegas, everybody send it to me. I'll send you back 95% of it, so your losses will be minimized. And randomly I send someone a little more than they send me. (However, keep in mind that the house never loses.)

If it makes you feel any better, I broke even in Vegas. I didn't lose or make a cent.

I hate to say it but i usually win too.
What games do you play chadlnc?
Black jack is pretty good for winning, and so is Bacarat. Other then that, you are facing some real up hill battles...
Slots are terrible as are some other games.
Better luck next time Jane. Or maybe take up Markel on his offer.

I only play blackjack. That was in about a four hour period. I was with four other people. One made about $2000 and the other about $1000. We are pretty slow and methodical about it.

i'm too much of a scaredy cat to play any of the card games - although mike is a blackjack/hold'em guru... i might play the slots for a minute or two but only because i like all the shiny buttons... hehehehe :hihi:

My first time in vegas(poor college kid) I made away up about 400$, which paid for my trip mostly. Mostly it was all blackjack, we were small timing it betting 10$ a hand. If you aren't in the mood to play the house, almost every casino is offering poker, which can be easy money...

Most of the time I lost in Vegas. I mostly played Paigow Poker. I didn't go last year so I saved $500. :D

The cardinal rule I have when I go gambling is I only take what money I can afford to lose. I also don't take any ATM cards - only my AMEX. I don't do cash advances on my AMEX either (no pin to do so). There is a reason casinos are there - because the odds are with the house.
That said, I prefer blackjack. I also play roulette and have won a lot of money doing so (when I bet right). Roulette is a fun way to spend some time and drink a lot without having to think too much. Blackjack requires me to be on my game so I usually just have water. Craps is also fun, but depending on the shooter, you can make or lose a lot of money quickly.

Craps and BlackJack here... I've won $1200 at Craps before... I would have won more if I didn't get dragged away by my gf... oh well!

Its good to play with people you know, or at least smart people. Cause then you can play to help the table win and not just the individuals. Like i go with people and we will all stay even with crap cards cause we know a 10 is coming for the dealer showing a 5. But with random people, they are all hitting on 13 and getting 10's and letting the dealer get a 5 to beat the table, and its like dang... can't you use a little brain? Please.....
after that happens twice, i just leave the table in search of less dumb people.

During my one and only trip to a casino, I was up $80 after 5 minutes. It took another 2 hours, but I managed to get it back down to $0. I really didn't see the attraction and never went back.
