I bought this unit from WalMart two weeks before Christmas. I know a guy that works in Electronics, so I got his discount plus it was on sale already. I had them deliver it, and as soon as I opened it up, it had purple corners in the picture. I called Phillips to ask what was going on, and the guy on the phone accused me of having speakers right next to it (magnetizing the screen). When I ademately refuted his BS, he said call one of the two service centers in my area and they will come pick it up. Called the service centers and both of them basically laughed in my face about picking the unit up. One of the places told me that a demagnetization would not even be covered under warranty. So I called WalMart back and had them come pick it back up and give me a refund (they didn't have another one in stock).

That is a pretty good price on that TV, but I would be really concerned about it being shipped undamaged. That thing is so heavy, it's virtually impossible to lift by yourself. I guess it's more awkward than heavy, but I couldn't git 'r done, and I'm 6'3'' 270#.

By the way, this specific unit was sold exclusively through WalMart. I'm not saying that makes them better or worse than anything else, but I did some research on this particular model before buying it. The actual picture I had was pretty darn good, but I wasn't living with those purple corners in the screen.
