You may want to check Epsons web site - I am pretty sure that they do not honor purchases made at Staples. Usually these rebates have to be offeredand submitted directly through Staples.

I just called epson, and they said exactly what pangirl said. The girl at Epson suggested buying it from CompUSA since they price match, and submiting the rebates.
Is this an S1 or an S1+ that is going to be on sale? Anyone have any CompUSA coupons that would be equivelent to the 30 of 150?

Its an S1+... and I dont see why the rebates wont be valid because it doesnt say Anywhere on the terms and conditions that it should only be purchased at epson....

They say that the $50 MIR must be purchased from one of their preapproved retailers. Staples is supposed to offer the $50 off instore and take care of the processing for the customer. It seems weird to me.

Staples had a $50 rebate in replace of the $50 listed above....so it really was just over $400.

Over at FW they were saying to pricematch Office Depot to Staples, Office Depot is offering one or two hundred in rebates as well, making it even cheaper. YMMV of course.

I just got mine from OD yesterday. Set it up last night for Home theater use. It was sweeet. I'm sure there are better projectors for HT but at $300 after all rebates this will get me by for a few years. I built a 106" diagonal 16:9 screen with some screen material that I got from b-adeals.com for way cheap. I'm picking up an Onkyo surround sound system and a new Sony DVD player. After it's all said and done I'll only be out about $800 for a 106" theater. That's less than I payed 5 or 6 years ago for my Sony Wega 27"!!!

Dang! OD is onto the price matchng and extra rebates! I was talking to a sales person at the local OD (great people at the store nearest me) ready to buy - and what's been happening is that people are buying with the price match - sending in the OD funded rebates (apperently you don't have to cut out the UPC) and returning the units still sealed. I understand it's a word of warning from corporate. This again is due to the rebates coming from OD, not Epson on that item. The Epson ones should still work if you can get a price match. Beware that Epson rebates take FOREVER to come back.
BTW I found the link at Epsons site where they exclude Staples (and many others ) from rebates...

OD isn't excluded, but Staples, Costco, OfficeMax, and some others are specifically excluded.
