DAMNNNN!!! Never trust anyone besides the people here at gotapex. Someone told me that a good way to clean printheads was to soak in methanol. I bought some from the hardware store today and soaked the printer head in it for 5 hours. Came back and the plastic housing had melted! It was litterally melted and soft to the touch. I am an idiot. Any suggestions on cheap inkjet printers? It was an S500 if anyone has any spare print heads... Bah!

Where'd you get methanol? That's some dangerous stuff.

Hardware store on the corner. How dangerous is it? I stored it under my kitchen sink and I am thinking that maybe that was a bad idea? :gle:

Hmmm....I always though just using Q-Tips and alcohol was a good method. Look at it this way, the printheads are really clean now! :)

I keep a bottle of 90% isopropyl in my computer desk. It doesn't melt stuff near as readily as methanol.
Next time, try acetone. NOT!
