This is the deal posted on gotapex several times during the last few weeks including this past Saturday, March 26, 2005:

DishPronto - 4 Rooms of Dish Network Service, NO Equipment to Purchase, FREE HDTV Upgrade, FREE DVR with Monthly Fee Waived, and FREE Shipping!! (Posted by: Brian)
With this DishPronto promotion, you get 4 rooms of Dish Network Service with up to 7 channels of FREE HDTV, FREE DVR that record or playback 100 hours with monthly fee waived! On top of that, you will also get FREE activation, FREE installation and you don`t have to buy any equipment either. The standard subscription is $31.99 that gives you 2 receivers and includes 60 channels plus locals. You can also get another 2 receivers (4 total) or 2 DVRs for only $5 more per month, or get both of those options for $10! These guys are also giving you a FREE DVD player after 3 months of subscription too! DISH NETWORK PROMO (http://www.dpbolvw.net/click-268435-10370215?sid=995)

The link takes you you to DishPronto's page which is very confusing to say the least. I tried to place an online order and select HDTV and/or DVR. It adds $14.99 per month for HDTV and $4.98 per month for DVR. Not FREE by any means!! Therefore, I decided to call the toll-free number displayed on the page to order and gave them the Promo code: CJ268435. An operator was taking down my order and I told her that I would like to order the deal with the free HDTV and free DVR. She said " sure I can help you with that!". She took all my details. At the end before giving her my credit card number, I asked her to confirm the monthly price, she told me it was $51.96 for the standard programming plus locals. I asked her about the $31.99 deal posted on gotapex and on their website. She replied "Dish Network does not have a promotion like that!!". When I asked her why they have a deal posted on their page that they do not honor, her response was "Sir, are you going to give me your credit card information or not?" When I asked for a supervisor or manager she told me they were not available.

A lot of unsuspecting readers would just believe that the deal posted on gotapex is genuine and proceed to place an online order only to find out that they have been the victim of a scam!! Please be careful, there is no such deal it is only a teaser to scam you.

My friend tried to place an order and got the same thing that you are talking about. They end up charging for every little thing and NOTHING is free.

I had the same promotion a year ago. But in a local HHGREGG store. I saw the promotion and this is the explanation I got from them.

Their explanation:
" Only the HD receiver and the DVRs are free (normally the equipment are sold at 400 for the DVR and 600 for the HD at that time) but the HD programming was $10 extra and also there is a charge for the extra receiver 5$ per extra (not counting the first)."

It was not what we understand or expect from the ad, but that is what it is.
I was taking anyway so I took it. But understand the explanation before you think what it is!

I am not justifying anything, but stating the facts as they are and it is not arguable or disputable. They advertise whatever they want, the promotions are coming from DISH and not local people. Especially the programming, so DISH would never ever give programming free. Even if they do there is always a catch. So we have to call DISH to clarify. The above was from DISH & HHGREGG.

they very simply advertise things for free that they charge you a monthly fee for.
I called up DISHnetwork and spoke to a customer service rep who couldn't dispute what I was claiming.

They advertise HDTV and DVR for free, but charge a monthly fee for choosing HDTV or DVR boxes, and no monthly fees are waived, despite their claim.

If the monthly fees are not waived and there is an additional charge for HD programming per month, then gotapex should not post it on their site as a referral with misleading information. A clarification needs to be posted that it is not $31.99 per month but $51.96 for 2 receivers and that it is NOT a FREE HDTV Upgrade and the Monthly Fee is NOT Waived!!!

I am really sorry, especially to satish, for not being more careful when I was posting the deal. The ad is very misleading and I apologize for not reading the details and fine print before I posted this. I had just updated the post on 3/26/05 and again, sorry for all the trouble and thanks so much for bringing it to my attention!
