Hello Everyone, Do you know if there is a delay when you listen to KGB online? Everytime I call in on the contests, they already have a winner even though I call immediately and it will ring straight through. Sometimes I hear it and call and it will ring and ring and it is never picked up and then I'll hear someone has won. Does anyone know? Thanks :confused;

Although I have never listened online,it is my understanding that there is a slight delay between the actual broadcast and what you hear online. However, I too have the same problem...it rings and rings and rings & yet I am not the right caller...if I get through at all!! I think it's called "luck of the draw"!!

I believe you're being anal. I was only recapping the previous stuff and expecting confirmation on the most recent. To go with your thinking, then we'd need someone to confirm the entire recap, as a typo would not be unheard of in a recap.
I tend to tune in a couple of minutes before the announcement. Today, they started a new song right after I turned on the radio. Since I knew I had a few minutes, I thought I'd make life easier for others by recapping. If anyone else agrees with your statement, then that's fine with me and I won't bother recapping in the future (sorry, but I've got other things to do than to wait for a confirmation before recapping).

I agree if the member who posted is not a senior trusted member.
The only risk with unconfirmed is that the code may have been planted or (as in my case recently) spelled incorrectly. (Fortunately I notified everyone that the code was invalid, but not all would do that, and having a lot of misspelled entried on their server could set up a warning flag.)

I agree if the member who posted is not a senior trusted member.
I agree that recaps are helpful, and when posted by a trusted member (such as GreatScott) it's cool.
If it's by an untested memeber, then, well, as always, use codes with cation.
Ultimately (sp?) it's up to each and every one of us to take care of our own code usage.

POOH'S HEFFALUMP MOVIE DVD
Straight from the theaters, it's a grand scale animated feature that is as exciting as it is charming, where friendship, understanding, and adventure abound as Winnie the Pooh and his friends learn that things are not always as they appear. A quiet day in the Hundred Acre Wood quickly grows mysterious when a strange sound echoes through the trees -- a sound that can only be . . . a Heffalump! While the friends devise, Roo sets off into the Wood and discovers a Heffalump named Lumpy. To Roo's great surprise, Heffalumps are quite friendly and playful. After meeting Lumpy, Roo wonders why the others are so frightened and why Lumpy is so afraid of Roo's friends. Upon discovering their new friendship, Roo and Lumpy's loved ones realize that Heffalumps are nothing to fear at all. Filled with humor, heart, and Heffalumps, this warm and wonderful adventure is great fun for the entire family.

A PAIR OF TICKETS TO SEE JEWEL
Use your points to see Jewel on Sunday June 19th at Humphrey's By The Bay. We like the sound of the title of her full length DVD filmed at our venue in 2001. It led to a return two-night stand in 2004 and once again in '05. Alaskan-born, San Diego-bred and discovered, singer-songwriter Jewel is on the concert trail again, singing her arsenal of songs ("Intuition," "You Were Meant For Me," "Hands," "Who Will Save Your Soul," etc), inviting audience members on stage to whisper forgotten lyrics into her ear and serving up spontaneous combustion as only the best singer-songwriters can. Anything but predictable, we welcome Jewel back for her fifth and sixth evenings at Humphrey's. With special guest Jackie Greene.

for Las Vegas don't play the strip, play the neighborhood casino, thats where the big jackpots are won and you have a better chance of winning
Don't be a poor sport:boxing:, I don't have 4 accounts, I have an office crew and about 75% of the time I guess right.(I'm there first)

If a person has more than one account (and I'm NOT saying that annabelsgmom does!), but if a person does, then they can guess at all four under the same account until they find the right response.
Then they can use that to post here and use for their other accounts.

The part that gets me is what happened a few weeks ago with the SOD. There were 2 consecutive times of like 2:00-2:45 and 2:45-3:30 and the SOD played at about 2:49 but it was supposed to play at about 2:40 I guess. Fortunately, I requested and got credit for it, but this should never happen!

Jeff was in Pittsburgh over the holiday. Why Pittsburgh? Possibly job hunting. Wouldn't be a bit surprised that is what Jer is doing today.
They would have to leave San Diego to better the salary that they are presently receiving. They may both be searching other areas that would allow them to continue to work together.
That's my observation.

whoa!
I used to listen to WCBS-FM a lot when I lived there! Odd to know it was still around and odd to know that it suddenly got taken over.
This radio buyout reminds me of the product take over a few years back (10?) when "Beatrice" was taking over everything like Orange juice and appliances. After snapping them all up, they sold them off.
I wonder if that's Jack's strategy. Buy them all up, build up name recognition, then sell it off to the highest bidder (maybe leaving all us VIPs high and dry.) If you hear rumors of another sale, you may want to consider snapping up whatever you can with your points. (Just don't take what I might want ...)

Okay, when I click on song of the day - it shows the times, but shows nowhere I can type in a song of the day.
Are you supposed to type in the song of the day too, and if so, where do I find that?
I do see right about the time selections for word of the day, and it's highlighted black and had blue "X" up on right top corner and when I click on it
it just closes.
So, am I doing something wrong?
TIA!

I don't think you're doing anything wrong, but it's possible that your browswer isn't displaying the page properly?
Next to each of the time options there should be a small round circle (radio button I think they're called). What you want to do is use your mouse to move the arrow over which ever button you want to pick and then do a single left click.
At this point your chosen circle should have a single black dot in it. Hit enter and there you are!
Hope this helps.

I can see the times and the buttons and can select one - but I was wondering if you also type in NAME of the song of the day, too, for extra points?

Nope. They just announce what is it on the air and you have to listen for it during those time choices, then pick the time it played.

This last year they let the points roll over. I hope that they continue to allow that to happen.

I remembered the same roll over of points for last year too. I looked up the new rules under Jack's VIP and it says all account will go to "0" on January 1st.

National talk shows are heading into the popular Podcasting of their radio shows. Coast To Coast AM, Rush Limbaugh, Dr. Laura, and Jim Roome are some that have jumped on to the new service. It comes at a price, however. Most ventures want about $60 a year to tune in, download, or visit archives. This week, Sean Hannity, heard locally on 760KFMB jumped into the fray. His three hour week day show costs about $6 a month. The live, on-line audio streaming feed is also a including in the package. (KFMB is not permitted to stream syndicated shows.) For radio groups, these non-tradition revenue streams -- are becoming the tradition. Locally, the only known Podcast is These Days, hosted by KPBS' Tom Fudge. The Monday-Thursday talk show can be sent to your MP3 player of choice; sign up at KPBS.org.
Also available locally is the Jeff and Jer morning showgram at Jack 100.7. The monthly fee is about $5. The service includes the ability to listen to the station on-line and exclusive content in the montly subscription. This could be the wave of the future as stations try to recoup the investement of on-line streaming. With commercial content excluded from the internet audio broadcast and the cost of streaming going up, non-traditional revenue sources (i.e., you the listener) have to chip in to get the service.
New radios are in the market that will record a radio program to an internal memory card for playback later. The time-shifting abiltiy, common place with DVRs and video tape machines at home, is finally making an entry to the radio market. Models start at about $200 and give you about five hours of storage. In the future, these will be able to store days, not hours.
