Verizon now is test marketing a new add on where when someone calls you, rather then hearing the standard ringing noise, they hear a song that you decide. It is a little pricey ($2 for the first month and $1/month from then on for each song), but it is kinda cool being able to have New Kids on the Block play every time your friend calls, or Let's Get it on by all green when ever your girlfriend/boyfriend calls.

Oh...and you decide who get's what ringtone. To sign up go to verizon (http://www.verizonwireless.com) , sign in, then look for ringtones, and choose "ringback".

they have that feature in korea. actually, i think it's pretty lame cuz the ringer is the song as well and i end up hearing all these stupid songs going off when i don't want to. :P

don't most phones already have this feature?

Not the phone ringtones. This comes from Verizon so when you dial a number, you hear music instead of the normal ringing.

oh, you mean when I'm calling someone with this service, instead of hearing the normal "ring ring", i'll be hearing some song while i'm waiting for them to pick up?

thats......kinda pointless.

I did not think that was new - sounds like a a lot of phones already have it on their own as a feature. My Verizon/LG one did, and since I've switched to Cincular, my current Motorola phone even has picture ID. It recognizes the caller via caller ID, and will link that with a photo you have stored of the caller.

This is the dumbest feature I have ever heard of.

It really gets freaking annoying. Please for the sanity of your friends stay away from this feature. It gets to the point where everyone ends up with the same song and keeps that song for months if not years.

So after a few hours of having this feature I called Verizon and had them take it off. The people calling thought that they were going straight to voicemail, not to mention that I had a few people that were not on the list to hear the song hear it. I can't have clients calling and hearing a song that was meant to make my friends laugh.

So....you were all right. this is not a cool feature. :(

t-mobile already has this...and its annoying as hell.
first of all, the people who are not imformed, are gonna think it went straight to voicemail or somthing, and hang up numerous times, and second, the music selections suck, and third, just dont do it
its annoying!
