i was thinking about trying this out, i was wondering if anyone has anyone has used it or if you have comments.

Skype is quite nice. I use it to keep in touch with international people. I still prefer the telephone and in the US, with all the unlimited minutes, I can easily pick up the phone. But this is perfect to talk to people for free outside of the US.

It is essentially VoIP, and now you can call any phone with it not just computers, or you can recieve calls, of course these services require a reasonable fee, as well as VoiceMail. I personally have never paid for these services.

The software is for Mac and PC, and is quite solid. Audio quality beats my cellphone sometimes. Give it a go.

i hope everybody knows that VOIP is not always the best solution, because there's no 911 support...i'm not saying this in particular with skype, especially if you're using it in conjunction with you're land line, that's cool

but no, i haven't tried it...
