I need a new digital camera for a trip to Europe this summer. I think that I have narrowed it down to the Canon S70. Now I just need to find a good price on it.
Anyone have dell coupons or any deals?? I want to buy a warranty with it, and it would be awesome if the warranty worked in other counties. I am planning on buying in the next week or two.

You will also want a large memory card with that (or two) since seven mps take up a lot of space. Also might want a spare battery and hopefully some way to charge it while you are overseas. It would suck to run out of memory or power for your once-in- a lifetime shots.

Your charger will work there, but you need an adapter for their style outlet to a 3 prong US outlet. Dell has been having the best deals on them lately, but Amazon also has some sales and no tax for a lot of states still.
Nice camera, btw. I am thinking about grabbing one.

You read my mind. I was looking at getting an extra battery and about 2Gb of memory. Should I go with one microdrive or get a few 512's? Advantages for one over the other?
I will have my laptop for most of the trip, but will probably spend the last 2 weeks just traveling and will leave the computer at a friends house in germany.

From what I have read (I have not used one personally), microdrives can have two potential problems. First, they are more fragile. You could drop it and no longer ba able to access the photos on it. That won't happen with a flash card since they have no moving parts. Secondly, they do require more power meaning your battery will not last as long. A lot of people seem to suggest either several 256mb cards or a couple of 512s over a 1gb card saying they are faster to load and unload from. I have a couple of one gb cards. Cards rated at a faster speed may or may not be faster in a given camera- it depends on whether they can take advantage of that speed. But downloading will be faster with a faster card.

Bump...
I am still looking for a good deal on the camera as well as a few 512mb or 1Gb SanDisc Ultra II.
The best deal I have found is just over $411 shipped (94588), and dell is like $465.

I haven't seen the S70 for less than that. I have the S50, I got it open box at Best Buy, it was pretty cheap.
I have the 512 from Amazon. At 5 mp, I get about 340 pics.
SanDisk SDCFH-512-901 512 MB Ultra II CompactFlash Card
