Memories are fuzzy but in the summer of 1977, when heat-transfer T-shirts were a big deal along the boardwalks in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, the first T-shirt I bought on family vacation read: MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU. I was 14. My second T-shirt pictured a gleaming black samurai head against a field of stars along with these words: DARTH VADER LIVES.

Did any of you read the article?! I didn't like some of the things the guy said, it's kinda hard to explain but oh well,
Have you ever seen the pin that says below Darth Vader's head, "Who's Your Daddy" Everytime I see it I wonder how empire strikes back would sound with that line :P

yea he was pretty hard on lucas, lucas deserves it for return of the jedi and for the phantom menace :amidala: i took my boy to the opening day of sw1 and i was soo exited and he was too, but after the movie i think he was more dissapointed than i was , he was 8 years old.
he hit the nail on the head when he was talking about the thrill of anikin going after those tuskin raiders , damn i wish that scene was alot longer . i think that the real piont of the artical was that vader is the real hero of starwars and was the only character lucus did right, cept for ep1 and ep6. it will be real interesting to see what the lucas kids do with the last three flicks. god i could talk about that for hours. im realy looking forward to ep3 and i pray its not cheezy and even if it is, i will like it cuz im hooked.

Well I have always stated that the movies were kinda of off (atleast Ep1 and 2) but man if you read the books.... that's where all the goodness is. Even Ep1 in text form is much much better. Jar Jar is less annoying and more stuff is explained.

well it all depends on what you like. I am more of a Pre Trilogy type of person. I loved Darth Maul's book, Cloak of deception was good too. The Jedi Apprentice Series (childrens books) was excellent as was Jedi Quest. However one of my personal favorites was the Han Solo Trilogy. That was good reading ;)

omg, i actually read that book when i was but a wee lad. of course, if i remember correctly, the book makes absolutely no sense since it was written before Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, so Dean had no idea what the Star Wars canon was supposed to be.

I have read this sometime in the past few years when I was readin gthe books in order as much as I could. If you read a New Hope, then read Splinter, then Empire Strikes back, Shadow of an Empire, and Return of the Jedi it makes sense. Mainly it talks about Luke's growing force powers and his first real face to face encounter with Vader.
mini timeline
ANH: Vader senses someone that is strong in the force
Splinter: Luke and Vader meet for the first time
ESB: After splinter Vader does research, Luke is his son he tells him
Shadow: Luke becomes a Jedi (Kinda like passes his trials)
Return: Vader tries to turn luke, luke turns Vader back to the light.
but yeah that is what I got from it when I read the books in order.

Because it was crap. As was the courtship of Leia. Rule of thumb - Star Wars books written by women suck.

Lucas has done nothing but piss me off since the orig 3. The first two prequils sucked (2nd better but not that great). Then he rips the crap out of the orig 3 with his re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-releases. He won't release the orig-3 in DD or DTS without the stupid changes, you need to get a laserdisc for that.
The biggest changes that pissed me off were the Greedo scene and him changing the Ewok song.
He shoulda turned control over to the final movies to somebody else. His stupid little "I have kids now, I need to be responsible and not violent" idiotic theme permiated and ruined the first two of the new ones. our only hope is this last one.

Well A.C. Crispen wrote the Han Solo Trilogy and I really liked that one.... Why why why better than the Han Solo Adventure and the Lando Adventures.

what pissed me off is he used ewoks instead of wookies and basicly turned return of the jedi into cheeze! jabba the hut and han solo was the onlything that that made the movie cool at all.
