Seems like a cookie cutter response! I don't know what they're trying to do, but obviously it's a scam. Anyone know?

It's a variation on the Nigerian email scam, I believe.

They do this to small businesses as well. They order a crap load and the payment either never comes or bounces. Run away! Or play them...either way don't sell to them.

I got one of those emails from Africa wanting to buy my laptop (eBay). I quickly told her that there was no international bidding/shipping.

I just got one of those for an e-bay auction.

It went kind of like:

"I pay with personal check OK? You send your name, address, phone to me and I make the check. I am in US."

Uhhhh.... sure you are. I told him I don't take personal checks & he pulled his bid.

I dunno, maybe it was legit, but I sure didn't want to find out the hard way.

you can also just have him run around town say you will be here and there...etc..sorry i was stuck in traffic...blah...blah...mom died.. etc..few fun laughs....with gas prices this high..you can probably cause him to waste 10$ driving around...better yet send him to the police station...haha...tell him you work there...and make him ask for one of the officers....but im not sure if it would be legal to bug the police like that...
