i was thinking of buying a new video card from newegg / refurb.... has anyone bought anything from them... "YOU ARE TAKING A RISK BUYING REFURBISHED PRODUCTS. Refurbished items are OPEN BOX products that contain components that have previously been owned by other clients and returned to Newegg.com. These products are sold considerably under cost." - i lose confidence when they post stuff like this... aren't refurb covered under warrenty?

i have bought refurbs and had real good luck with them. most of the time there was nothing wrong with these products they usually arent installed correctly and get returned, and some of them get fixed and tested by the mfr. the refurbs ive bought either work great or not at all. sometimes you may need to d/l the latest driver or actually follow the install instructions given.
and yea they are covered under the warranty.

Out of all places on the internet, I would rather trust newegg with their refurb products.

The profit from their shares

Newegg has had very mixed reviews when it comes to refurbs. The 1st thing to know is that when they say it comes bare, most of the time they mean it. What are ya getting, btw? Might be a deal on a new one someplace else.

www.dumpinggoods.com has the worst web site, but the best prices for everything, except processors, i've gotten a 74gb raptor 10k rpm for $100 radeon 9800 pro for $110 samsung 21.3"LCD $450 4 months ago.. all are in perfect working condition and a Aspire X-superalien gaming case for $65 with 500watt psu, which retails for $150. so i recomend them

All I buy from newegg are refurbs. 4 of the last 5 pieces of computer equipment I've bought have come from them. I have NEVER had a problem with anything I've bought there. Further, I've bought two motherboards from them, expecting both to be "barebones" but they came with all their cables/discs.

Splendid. More than I would pay for a video card, but if that is your thing...not a bad deal.

nice card and at that price who could complain. i prefer nvidia (cause i'm an fps fanatic) but from what my freinds tell me and benchmarks ive seen, the radeon has some great grafix support and good fps on newer games. keep your driver updated cuase radeon releases a new one about once a month.

keep your driver updated cuase radeon releases a new one about once a month.
Which are not always better than the last. Usually, they release a set to fix one or two games (cough...KOTOR2...cough cough) and the release creates problems in other games.
Use www.Rage3d.com and read the forums on the new driver releases. (I update about every four months or so, and very seldom to the newest version)
