Not online yet:

3 1/2 out of 5 red circle thingies.

Got|apex is one of the more ambitious coupon sites. Indeed, it wants to provide more than coupons, serving up product reviews (not too many) and links to tech related articles (way too many). The results are mixed. Although the site covers a lot of ground - we even foudn coupons for Ace Hardware's online store - it's got some glitches. A box that lists the lowest web price for various computer components was often out of date. The low price for a SanDisck 256mb compact flash ultra II card was listed at $52.20. When we clicked on this, we were directed to a PriceGrabber screen that listed a doezen stores selling the card for under $30. That said, Got|Apex? has some nice touches.

It does a good job letting you know when a store is closing out discontinued porducts, often at significant savings. Wehn Apple introduced its new 12-inch PowerBook for $1,499, Got|Apex? steered us to the previous model on Amazon where it was $1.199. With $300 in our pocket, the site's flaws suddenly didnt' seem so bad.

too many links?? Oh SNAP, I got dissed!

My guess is that PC Magazine don't really know about got|apex. the community is built right here on the forum. they should have someone else review.

That is cool but they should have talked about the "forums" especially the "off-topic" one.

You want clear, easy to use sites, check out google.com or passwird.com or fatwallet.com or even techbargains.com

My point is usually supported when I'm telling someone about one of the deals on the main page, it takes them a long time to wade through all of the text. Hopefully I'm not the only one to think that there is too...much...content! Even Yahoo wised up (search.yahoo.com). Just my $0.02.

Eventually there will be a redesign.

Yikes! If I close my eyes, I can still see it. It's burned into my retina.

Seriously. I may need eye drops.

That is good. Not that I dislike it but it hasn't really changed in as long as I've been coming here. Nice to freshen things up every so often.

Dear PC magazine, you aren’t supposed to read the news page. It’s a secret page for me and a handful of people who don’t have a whole lot to do at the moment, have already spent all their free cash on overstock pencil sharpeners, and are really just trying to kill some time. It’s supposed to have too many links, otherwise how else is one supposed to kill time at work? Reading porn? Is that what PC Magazine is trying to force on its readers, porn reading at work?

I didn’t think so.

That’s right. LP “Too Many Links” Miller is all about preventing the fall of society by overloading the system with heatsink reviews so that you, the reader, don’t get slapped by Mr HR Department Hack who won’t understand that on a Friday at 3pm, porn is all you have left. I provide a service and yes, keep the average working nerd employed just that much longer before India comes knocking at their door and hightails it out of town with their job.

You’re welcome, man.

Too many links indeed. Hrumph.

Oh yeah, I sent that to PC Magazine. Damn right. I got your links right here, pal.

From this day forward I dub thee "Too Many Links Miller." Or just TML or maybe just Links. Yeah, Links sounds good. Reminds me of something geeky.

Links-a-Plenty Miller!

I guess all publicity is good publicity right?

I don't think the deals page is all that bad. It's simple but simplicity lets it look good (wel..ok...DECENT) on ALL computers.

I read the news page more than the deals page.

and Links is not in this for the notoriety, he just wants to stop the spread of Pron. :)
