Pam (Jeff or Jer's wife can't remember) called in this morning and said that she listens to the show all the time and this was the worst. She couldn't believe that they were talking about this on the show. So if the wife calls in - you know it is bad.
Oh.. no wonder the voice sounded familiar.. that was the lady I heard call in to complain.

I picked up San Diego Home and Garden Mag this weekend. Jerry and Pam are featured. They have a 10,000 square foot house in La Jolla in which practically everything has been imported for decorative purposes from Italy. They have their own brick oven outdoors for their guests to grill pizzas on. It was a pretty cool article. But dammit for that money they can come up with something better then MEGA COLON. No wonder Pam was embarassed.

I imagine the June/July. I saw it at Longs, but it is a different version than the San Diego magazine with LT on the front, this is just about design and architecture and stuff.

Laura said that someone from the show purchased a $30,000.00 engagement set last night. They ruled out Rick,Randy & Jer. Kind of led people to think it's Tommy. Well it could be Jeff or Tommy.
Yesterday they said that Tommy's mercedes car payment is $900 a month.
Holy crap that's a LOT of money. :2far:
What/who do you think?
YoungAmerican

It is probably Tommy and he's probably going to marry the "arm candy" the car wash girl. She seems to be SO into him (or could it be his $$)? Anyway they both get something out of it. Tommy gets to brag about town that he's got a "hot" chick and she gets to live off his big bucks. I'd give it a couple years tops. She will have spent all his money and will get bored waking up next to that dough boy! (boy, I sound really bitter this morning don't I?)

Tommy is so fickle! Wasn't it just a few short weeks ago that he wanted to tatoo "Sharlo" onto his body and now he's engaged to "The Car Wash Girl"???? I really think he is going through mid-life crisis. Personally I think he really got into making a point of letting his EX know about all the other girls he had in his life. I remember a few times on air they would call Tommy's answering machine to hear a message that had to do with something they were talking about on the air but it almost seemed too obvious how they would play through about 10 preceeding messages, all of women saying "Hi, Tommy this is so-n-so blah, blah, blah call me, ok?" in that really annoying "trying too hard to sound cute" chick voice. I always noticed how much he always seems to be pushing "daddy's special friends" in everyone's face. Just shows how totally insecure he really is!

I am being completely serious when I say this. I've met crazy in my life and Tommy is completely off his rocker. I think partially because he's really hittin' the hard stuff these days. Its sad to see someone self-destruct like this...but he's brought it all on himself. They should dump him NOW before the show becomes even more dismal.

I sure hope Tommy isn't getting taken for a ride just because he is rich. We are talking about an over 15 year age difference here.
My mistake on stating that Christy the car wash girl was married. I got her confused with Sharlo who is married and decided to stay with her current husband making Tommy settle for the #2 girl on his list, Christy.

What dice game????
When they have a guest on the show, they all roll a die and whoever got the highest number (it used to be the lowest but changed it today), lost. That person has to roll the die again and whatever they roll determines how many words they can use in a sentence. I didn't hear part of it but Jeff must have rolled a 2 and would have to use 2 word sentences throughout the whole interview. He decided to make up a new game this AM where he rolled 4 dice, added them together to make 12 so all of his sentences had to have 12 words. Believe me, it makes them look really stupid. They seem to think it's funny. Perhaps I'm the only one that doesn't find it funny. :banghead:

The Ebay seller was T Johnson himself selling what appeared to be promotional stock that was not being used for freeloader giveaways. A lot of it was concert tickets, CD's, and even collector memorabilia such as musician autographed instruments from musicians appearing at the station. It sure was funny how it stopped so abruptly after word got out on the old freeloader msg board. He still has a job though so it couldn't have been that bad.

It would have probably increased the final amounts on the items if it were charities people want to give to. I'm gonna have to raise the BS flag on this one Whiskers. And why wasn't more made of it? For instance, had I known the station was doing a charity auction, I woudl have gladly bid on the stuff, and probably would have helped to increase the overall gain.

I don't think they stand a chance at getting their contracts renewed at KFMB. It's clear Jack is looking to cut costs wherever they can to run lean and mean. There is NO WAY they can afford to pay Jeff and Jer MORE than $3.0 million each and Tommy another $1 million along with the 6 figure salary Laura is pulling down. They need to get rid of annoying Rick ASAP. He needs to stay behind the scenes and if there aren't any anymore, he needs to move on to another station.
Tommy needs to really take a good hard look at himself and ask the question does he want to end up like his brother who died of a drug overdose? He needs to cool it with the gambling and drug addiction. He also needs to ask himself if he really thinks the new girl is in it for the long haul or just to haul off half of the remaining assets Tommy was able to keep after Danielle kicked him out of the house and kept the kids. I just can't get over the over 15 year age difference between the two. He is on a oneway collision course with destruction and I think Jeff and Jer will have a hard time doing radio without him. Perhaps the entire showgram will just disband and go do their own thing. Jer has plenty to retire off of, Jeff is VERY talented and can do well in radio on his own, Laura can easily afford to just be a stay-at-home mom with her hubby pulling in a solid 6 figure income as an airline CAPTAIN, and keep her congested voice off the air. This way Laura can stop complaining about her lack of sleep even though she only works a 4 hour work day with the entire rest of the day to do with as she pleases. Randy just needs to flat out MOVE OUT at the age of 43 and finally break the ambilical cord he's had with his parents since he was a baby.
That's my soapbox, what's yours?

Truly, I never thought they made that much...and I'm sure it's more now since 2 yrs have passed since this article. I'm sure the rest (besides Tommy) don't make nearly as much. Jeff & Jer are the show. Without them, it's nothing. Would you listen to the "Laura & Randy" show? LOL She just can't manage her money, bottom line.

Well I actually got to put my 2 cents in where it might really count. I got a call last night to do a survey on (drum roll please.....) SAN DIEGO RADIO!!! Boy was I ever happy to let them know what I think. They asked alot of questions regarding which stations I listen to and which I like best. They asked specific questions about the DSC show on KGB and Jeff and Jer on Jack. They asked questions like "Do you feel that they think they are funny than they really are?" (YES) "Are they annoying?" (MOST OF THE TIME). "Would you listen to JACK if Jeff & Jerr went to another radio station?" (YES) "Would you follow Jeff & Jer to their new station if they left?" (NO, I don't like them now, why would I follow them anywhere??) It was a pretty interesting survey and I got paid for doing it which made it even better. When she called Tommy "baby", it sounded fake. What they talked about was weird - how Tommy snores so loudly that if her brother across from the hall was not such a deep sleeper he will hear it. Her brother lives with them???

so much of what happens in Laura's life and in Tommy's life, as presented on air, is just nauseatingly self centered. I wonder what a poor person in Africa would have to say (Wasn't this Rick's idea?) if they were to tell them all their "woes" of everyday living.

Years ago when that other woman was on...Becky, Bessy, Betsy...whatever her name was, I called up during a segment because what she was saying was so absurd but off the air she told me it was just for entertainment. I take a lot of what they say with a grain of salt. By saying things like this, they get people to call in and it fills time on the air. I can tell when it's setup because Laura's not a good actress and when she hesitates "hmmmm, I'm not sure if I should say it on the air", you can tell they all discussed it off the air.
I thought it was funny this AM when people were calling up during the "WHAT BUGS" segment. It's not only Jeff that talks on forever...Jerry does the same thing when he's "setting up a story"...those stupid teaser lines...give us a break and just say it! And Jer, "jokes dyslexic" isn't funny! :thud:

Clear Channel is a bunch of greedy tightwads. Besides....Jeff & Jer would never have their freedom they so worship with a giant conglomerate. They have often talked about Clear Channel and how glad they are that they are with an independent that cares about their personnel and not just a number at any of the Clear Channel outlets. I think the original concept of what J&J brought to the city was great...they did a lot more community involvement stuff, and they made things happen.
I think if they can find new inspiration and a new niche, they can draw the audience back.
I think they could dump some of the baggage (extra hangers on who think they are funny) and get back to their habit of getting out and involved in activities, they could easily be worth their salaries.
Their sitting there in the studio every day guffawing it up amongst the five or so of them? I don't think that works so well.

You could be right, but that was years ago.The thing is, reguardless if it was good for the community, or it seemed like they were all about doing good for people,it is ALWAYS a "bit". For instance, the very first "breaking and entering christmas" was fake, it wasn't real. The ratings went through the rough, immidatly people flooded them with e-mails, phone calls wanting to help and donate to the cause. This is what made it a good thing for the community, the people of SD, not J&J, or little T, they just ran with it. In my opinion, their lives, and life styles are beginning to take their toll. Carma always has it's day.It went from a good wholsome people who love us San Diegians, to Laura and her "alergy" problem, Jeff and his big "christian" family, now torn apart, Tommy and his "brother and sister" relationship to Laura, divorce, and other encounters, Jerry "being a chromosone away from being gay" and Randy, who just takes up space and consumes air. What is ther to look forward to. I think people need new inspiration, it's just "drama" now.

free, I respect your opinion, but I think the core, J&J, are still ok, it's the surrounding folks who do not add much. They have run their full gamut. I don't have an issue with Jeff's family, stuff happens, people are human. I think he weathers these things well, overall. I also think Jerry is a full, rounded guy, he may sound one step away, but I just think he's a guy who doesn't necessarily do the "dude" thing, and is comfy with himself.
When I said they were good for the community, I think that translates easily into committed listeners...look how many people they can get out to donate money to their drive by things. But the total self-absorbed focus these sideliners have...ick. While J&J are both wealthy, I am more grossed out by the materialism of Laura and Tommy. Rick, I just don't even pay attn. to. He's an annoyance to me, sorry, Rick, if you are reading. But he just reacts, he doesn't add.
I would think, if J&J put their heads together (after dumping the sideshow folks) they could come up with another winning formula and take off again. If they want to. I think Jer could easily quit it all and retire now.

Where was Jeff today(Friday) I listened off and on so I didn't hear.
Also........any more insight into what happened to Jeff and Nina?? I feel so sad for him-he seems like such an empathic person-not to mention a fabulous sense of humor--I think he would make a great husband(of course I'm not in on his home life, I'm just saying........
I think Jeff was visiting his new honey on the east coast.
As far as Jeff & Nina....story is that she got involved with someone in baseball and left him. Jeff would be good husband material...if he would just fess up
and get rid of the horrible hair piece...and stop dying what hair he has left.
Did anyone hear the comment that Jeff made this morning. They were talking about stay at home dads....and he said in two months he may just be that. That is when their contract is up. Interesting, eh?

flipper, I'm with you there...I love the Drama Club, too. I would get a kick out of listening to stories of Jeff's childhood growing up in that household. His Mom, alone is a riot.
hey, remember when he talked about her making the toast to them at their wedding (Jeff and Nina's?) Remember she called her "Noona?" boy, I bet she looks back at that moment and says, "I told you she was no good for ya!"
I've listened to Jeff and Jer since their 2nd day in San Diego--I don't want to even imagine what mornings would be like without them !!--I can relate to so much as they tell stories about their lives, loves and just plain life experiences-We haven't heard that they are leaving have we? and -I still can't imagine Jeff would move to New York to be with a girlfriend especially the way he feels and talks about his kids--I would find that scenario really hard to believe.

I, like everyone else, LOVED listening in the morning and couldn't understand that when the music changed and the other DJ's left why You guys (J&J) would start sucking so bad. Ok so I'm blond and REALLY slow, er eh something??
I realize now that it is on purpose so you can get let out of your contract. I guess reading info on Presidents is educational...just REALLY bad radio. Oh and telling people that fireworks can be seen in any park, school or wherever there is a lot of cars was helpful too. J & J were making comments on how bad the show was, I guess that was for people like me to know that they know how bad they are. I hope the station puts you out of your (and listeners) misery soon. Hopefully J&J can get back to the showgram that San Diegans have come to love and have as a part of their mornings at another station.

There just hasn't been much happening. J&J and the rest of the gang go on vaction soon and that will more than likely be the end of their tenure at Jack.
I predict they will take over the morning show at 94.1. Bob Bollinger was the guy that brought them to Q-105, then he moved to B-100 and pulled them over to Star. Then he left KFMB and went to Infinity Broadcasting. He is now Clear Channel's San Diego Gen. Manager and since he is so tight with J&J, bets are that is where they go. Care to make a wager? LOL
I hope "The Showgram" stays in San Diego--Maybe they need to go to a new station to re-energize them. Also since Jeff has been very guarded about what he says regarding his family( since his separation from Nina) the show lacks his contributions regarding family life--I hope eventually he will be able to share a little more-it seems to go against the way they handled things in the past(sharing pretty much everything)--but I do understand him wanting to keep things private---------

He may not be legally divorced yet...and probably has been told by lawyers, not to discuss anything to do with his family life. He probably is having to pay alimony and child support and doesn't want to discuss or bring up the new love in his life (which we are all assuming is on the East Coast).

You must be kidding.....are you sure you're a listener? They say themselves that they are doing things right after work. On several occasions, it has been said that Jerry is out the door at 10:01AM. I hardly think they are there at 2AM to put in their 8 hours.
I know someone that works at the station and she said if they aren't in the office, they work from home.....that it is show biz and they are "putting us all on". They don't just work four hours a day....trust me.
Heee.
Hey Whiskers, this isn't the first time you've swooped to their defense. It's also not the first time you've acted all offended when someone here has bashed them. Are you part of the showgram?
No I am not part of the showgram...but I am part of the business world and deal with these kinds of people all day....and they are reachable all day. We all think it is a glamorous job...but it isn't.

It's been documented that Jeff & Jer make a few million a year each....what part of that is not glamorous? I work 8 hours a day and don't get that. There are many that work 80 hours a week and don't get close to that. And no, I don't trust you.

But Jeff & Jer are not "they".

That is the most misinformation anyone has ever posted on this board. Why don't you hang out with one of these folks and see how much work they do "from home". I used to hang out with some of these "hard workers" and they DO NOT do ANYTHING work related after 10 AM (except check email).

You may think it is misinformation, but go ahead and think that. More power to them if they can make millions. Sounds to me like everyone is pretty jealous of someone's success. They may all be out of a job shortly and then maybe this will make you all happy. Envy is a very dangerous thing. Just be happy for what you have and deal with it. LOL

Settle down...It was simply stated that they don't work more than 4 hrs a day and they rake in the $. What does that have to do with envy? It's show biz...they are actors on the air...we are simply the "STAR" magazine of radio hence "drama thread".
They may put in extra time here and there, i'll give them that....Why are you so defensive about the truth?

Bottom line is that Jeff and Jer get paid a lot of money to broadcast a mind numbing, horrifically boring show. None of their bits are original or interesting. I do miss Greg, Jen, and Sara in the afternoons though. They were less concerned about being politically correct which I loved.

Exactly....it's show biz. So everyone calm down. So they took the day off yesterday....we all need a break once in a while. My feeling is if you guys don't like their show...then don't listen. I've listened to them since Y95 and will continue with them wherever they go as long as it is San Diego. :)

Sounds like they don't have another contract yet. They just made a comment about being homeless.. Laura says " Do you ever think about where you live?". Jeff says " Yeah and a lot more lately--take some notes".
I could see them moving to vegas.

WE all DO need a break once in awhile but come on, they get breaks ALL THE TIME. They were probably out trying to find another job like some others have said. Personally, I don't like their bit. Jerry is very pompous, Jeff doesn't bother me too much and the rest of the gang, Tommy, whiney Laura and dufus Randy :puke: , need I say more. Whatever, I don't listen to them and as far as being jealous, NAH. I bet anyone of us would jump at a chance to do their job and probably do it exactly like they do if allowed. Some of us get the lucky breaks like that and some of us have to grind in the 9-5 life (actually more like the 6-6 life for me) but oh well, that's life.
