Exactly....it's show biz. So everyone calm down. So they took the day off yesterday....we all need a break once in a while. My feeling is if you guys don't like their show...then don't listen. I've listened to them since Y95 and will continue with them wherever they go as long as it is San Diego.
Yeah...6 weeks of vacation, 1.5 mil a piece, a day off here and there is defiantly a must. With that said, this seems really personal to you. You don't think we ALL haven't been listeners forever, think again. It's just like any other "actor", Ben Aflack, for instance, I love him in Good Will Hunting, and some others, latley his movies have been :puke: , so this leads one to speculate about his private life, his habits(ie gambling, strippers etc..) and how much $ he gets paid to "entertain" us badly. Maybe his next movie will be great, then the speculation dies down, and everyone is happy again. THESE ARE ACTORS, that's why they have "STAGE NAMES"....there is nothing personal here. And that's why I still listen, they might surprise me...

Sounds like they don't have another contract yet. They just made a comment about being homeless.. Laura says " Do you ever think about where you live?". Jeff says " Yeah and a lot more lately--take some notes".
I could see them moving to vegas.
Again...it is all show biz and you really can't believe everything they say.

I loved the story about "Sir, I am going to have to ask you to leave..." from their Vegas trip. to me, that is the kind of J&J stuff I really enjoy... I just loved Jerry in the background giggling away at it, as if he were remembering all the details of the moment by moment...NOW, to me, that's great SHOWGRAM.
whiskers, this is just totally my opinion...but J&J and crew can stand up for themselves, they don't need your defense. And that is not a criticism of them. They are where they are BECAUSE of their quirks and personalities. If folks get a general feeling from them, it is not necessarily envy. We all have "reactions" which these folks who are really "in the business" ought to be aware of, if they want to stay "in the business."
If folks generally are saying Laura is annoying...on this board, on the phone when folks call into her "gossip" line...she can either choose to evaluate the response, make adjustments, or ignore it. How she handles it will determine how long she can "live" on the radio.
What you are insinuating about Jeff doesn't ring true, though. sounds like you are definitely a "Nina" side of the fence friend.

What was the story?
Jeff & Jer went to Vegas yesterday and they wanted to print out their boarding passes for Southwest before they went to the airport. They were given a laptop at the hotel and anything they printed, they'd have to pick up at the desk. While Jerry was printing them out, Jeff saw that there was a table with free cookies. He takes a bunch, goes to the desk to pick up the passes (while Jerry is sitting waiting) and the woman returns with the manager and their passes with an angry look on their faces. The manager said "Sir, we'll have to ask you to leave"....and he thought that it was because he took too many cookies but it was Jerry that printed a picture of a naked person. Jeff looked at it and said "Yep" and they left. It was pretty funny.

That was classic J&J! That's who we love and miss! Is anyone else sick to death of listening over and over that Laura's taking Charlie out of school surprising him by going to the movies? Like its so original or something~Not!! When she goes on and on, its like she's trying to convince the listeners, er maybe herself that she's a great mom. Maybe the cost living is too high in Hawaii, so she wanted to save money by bringing her own water. What's so hard to decide? Don't they serve water on the airplane, why did she want to carry it anyway? Is she really that dumb?

Jeff is making a crap load of references that they won't be on the radio. He referenced Randy being close to being out of work. That you never know in this industry when their last day will it could be any day. Several times he said that on their last day on the radio they will be looking for that ladies missed connection. Then he said "oops! I didn't mean to play that(background music), I wouldn't want that to be on the last day we're on the radio."
It's only 7:30am.. Is anyone else getting the same vibes??

If Jack stays true to their format, they will not replace J&J and will have no djs. They will save a bundle of money but will lose a lot of listeners.

I'm not sure they would do away with that program....maybe, maybe not. I bet they go to 94.1 unless they are revamping another station like in the past. 94.1's Duncan and Mel are so annoying. I can't imagine that show is doing well. I saw previously somewhere that Cindy Spicer was joining another station but that hasn't happened, that I can see. Usually if you lose your morning slot, for whatever reason, you move on to another morning slot in the same market or a different one.

In the past, when they moved stations, they were off the air for a couple of weeks. Although, in the past, we didn't know where they were moving to until they started that day on the new radio station. So this is kind of a treat. I am looking forward to them moving and hopefully getting back to the way they used to be. It was nice hearing about the kids this morning.

In today's SD U-T Broadcast Briefs
Radio station 100.7 Jack FM will be replacing the Wiggy & Caesar morning-show team when the duo moves to My 94.1 FM in September. "We're looking for the right personality and the right show," said Tracy Johnson, general manager and program director. "We're hoping to find the next Wiggy & Caesar." The new morning show may not be in place by Wiggy & Caesar's Aug. 31 departuare date, but listeners hoping to hear live disc jockeys in the mix can look forward to the return of former Star 100.7 afternoon team Greg Simms and Sarah Kiani, who Johnson says will be coming to Jack "at some point in the future."

I replace "Jeff & Jer" with "Wiggy & Caesar", a term I learned from rotodani. I think that refers to their hair styles. :)
94.1 is annoucing "Wiggy & Caesar" coming soon and "Duncan & Mel" moving to the afternoon in their commercials.
I have the same question , how can 94.1 afford their salary plus all the tag-alongs?

Caesar refers to one of Jer's hairstyles, and Wiggy obviously refers to Jeff's hairpiece, which I've been told is his real hair, but I sat behind him at Padres games and there if no way that is real - it looks like doll hair.
Anyway, DSC have had that nickname for them for years.

They are on vaca til the end of the month, then back for a month, then to 94.1 at the beginning of Sept, although I have been told that they won't actually be on air til 9/19.

I stumbled across this forum yesterday and read through the whole thread (it was a boring day at work, what can I say? :boring: ) Very entertaining comments about the "Showgram." Here's my 2 cents worth- Rick Morton is awful. Whenever he opens his yap, I just want to groan and change the station. He's not funny, he takes way too long to tell a joke or story (and it's usually stupid anyways) and I think he just likes to hear himself talk and assumes that we all feel the same way. I got news for you Rick- you're boring and not really all that funny. I hope that he doesn't get invited to "board the bus" to My94.1
Okay, thanks for letting me get that off my chest... Oh and yes, I agree with all of you, it was pretty obvious to me in the last month that they were headed to another station. Their schtick has been lame, repetitive and just plain unfunny. They sound like they're all just doing the minimum requirements just to finish up their contractual duties. Now don't get me wrong- I'm a J&J fan from way back (Y95 days). I've always looked forward to hearing the showgram as I head into work each a.m. These days, I feel like I've been put on a restricted diet! I want the full fat, full calorie J&J showgram back! Wah!!!! Is it September yet?
Thanks for letting me rant. Peace out...

From Yesterday's North County Times:
Jeff & Jer makes crosstown switch
By: RANDY DOTINGA - For the North County Times
When a honcho with music station My 94.1 announced that it had grabbed one of San Diego's most successful morning teams, he couldn't resist taking a stab at their soon-to-be-former employer.
"Bye, Star," declared local Clear Channel vice president Jim Richards in a message to his staff last week about the new digs for "Jeff & Jer." In a word: ouch. The words refer to "Hi, Star," the ever-annoying former slogan of the archrival formerly known as Star 100.7, now called 100.7 Jack FM.
In one fell swoop, the Clear Channel company, which owns KMYI/94.1, had managed to swipe a top-rated show and strike a blow against one of its most significant competitors.
Plenty of questions remain unanswered. When will Jeff & Jer ---- Jeff Detrow and Jerry Cesak ---- start appearing on 94.1? Richards said it's not clear, but they'll reportedly make the switch as early as September. Will the rest of the Jeff & Jer crew -- including such well-known names as "Little Tommy" Sablan, Laura Cain and Randy Hoag ---- make the switch as well? Richards said that's not clear either.
Presumably, Clear Channel negotiated with Jeff & Jer first, and then will try to reach agreements with their sidekicks. Jack FM general manager Tracy Johnson couldnít be reached for comment.
And finally, how much did Jeff & Jer get? One news report from a few years ago suggested they made in the seven figures, par for the course in the radio business.
The duo have made station switches before. They started in Detroit in 1982, then headed back to San Diego six years later, turning up on the now-defunct Y-95. They moved to Star 100.7 in 1997. In all, they've been in San Diego since the Reagan administration, working their way from their 30s to AARP eligibility.
While many in the local radio industry respect San Diego's other top-rated morning show ---- KGB's "Dave, Shelly & Chainsaw" ---- some insiders say J&J are nothing more than overpaid hacks. But as I've written before, they know the key to successful radio: making a connection with ordinary people.
Countless listeners can reel off details about Jeff & Jer, their relatives and their sidekicks. They sound like a big family, maybe a funnier, happier and friendlier family than many listeners have at home. Is it any wonder that they're now millionaires?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There's some good news out of the Jeff & Jer switcheroo. For one thing, 94.1 has one of the most powerful transmitter signals in town, meaning J&J fans in the outer reaches of North County should have an easier time hearing them.
And there's an added bonus for 94.1 listeners: They won't have to wake up to "Duncan & Mel," who will move back to the afternoon.
Possibly the most annoying radio team in town, the duo somehow managed to take over the morning slot despite Mel's irritatingly screechy voice and their combined lack of humor. Case in point: A few weeks ago, they recapped a bunch of news out of Hollywood without making a single snotty or even slightly cynical remark.
If you can't manage to make fun of vapid celebrities, you don't belong on the radio.

And rest assured their contract with 94.1 is definitely OVER $3 million each for Jeff and Jer and $1 million + for Tommy. The rest also most likely received a raise. If they weren't going to get more than what KFMB was paying them you know a bigger market would have swallowed them up. The cost of advertising on 94.1 between 6 - 10am has just 5 folded if not 10 folded I am sure!

Before he went on vacation when he was saying how it would only be him and two kids because everyone else backed out on him. He made a comment that he thought taking a four year old on a boat would probably not be a good idea. After listening today~I would say he made a wise choice.

Maybe someone else can do better than me- I was doing month end so only listened with half an ear. :naughty:
Jeff's trip consisted of him, his son,Marc & daughter,Laura. The boat had 6 bedrooms uuhh! Thats bigger than my house!!!
http://houseboat-rentals.gordonsguide.com/marinasinternational/vesseldetails.cfm?vesselID=164
It was a 100 mile lake and he parked the houseboat the whole time a couple of football fields away from the marina. He made mention that he should have just rented a cabin. He also rented a ski boat, got all crazy with his son, pulling him on one of the floaty things, tossed him off so hard that his son's shoes flew off. He was unable to figure out how to tether this ski boat with a proper knot, so when he woke up each morning he would have to go hunting for the boat. He was charged $200 in damage for crashing the ski boat into the houseboat.
I only caught a part of Tommy~saying something to the effect that his drink bill was larger than his cabin number. Hahaha!!
the same thing happened on our family cruise!!

Jeff & Jer Bound For My Morning Show
July 25, 2005
By Ken Tucker
Midwest Television-owned adult hits KFMB (100.7 Jack FM) San Diego morning team Jeff & Jer will exit the station for the same shift at crosstown Clear Channel adult top 40 KMYI (My 94.1). They’ll start September 1.
“We're unbelievably stoked,” KMYI PD/morning co-host Duncan Payton told Billboard Radio Monitor. “Talk about the cherry on top of an already killer sundae. Jeff and Jer are icons and we all feel incredibly honored to have them on an already successful team.”
The market veterans, who were the only live jocks on Jack, will replace Payton and Mel McKay ("Duncan & Mel), who will return to afternoons, the shift they previously held. “Life is good in San Diego and now I get to sleep in again,” Payton said. “Sweet!”

Well, in a press release one can't really be all pissy if one wants to remain employed.
He's just doing/saying what he knows he should.
Going back to afternoons is, for sure, a demotion of sorts. And although I've never listened to them it sounds like, from posters here, they belong in the afternoons and not in the mornings.

I tended to be a channel flipper back when Jen and Greg were annoying me in the afternoons but when I heard Duncan and Mel, they were even more annoying (how is that possible?) so I'm sure their AMs are just terrible.
Yeah, I can understand what you are saying so he can keep his job, but that sounds just a smidge over the top.

I've listened to Jeff & Jer since they moved to San Diego. I was a kid then. I'll tell you, the station they are at makes a huge difference. They were great with B100, they were great with Star. They were good with Q106 until the owner change. I think My94.1 will be a good thing. I personally hate the new Jack. I have enough people giving me snippy attitudes in my life that I don't need a radio station to do it too. The two of them just don't make a good match. The Showgram and Jack are too seperate and different in attitude. I bet they will sound much much happier on their first day on the air with My94.1. I wish em luck.

Usually it's a bunch of DJ's getting together and sharing their experiences, new bits, etc. Alot of times Jeff or Jer host a session talking about how successful they have become and how much money they're making. I recall a quote from Dave Smiley commenting on Jerry and how he led a session a few years ago, which Dave attended at boot camp. The session was titled something like "I'm rich and I'm loving it". It went on and on about how Jer set a goal to make $100,000 a year as a radio DJ by the age of 30 and $1,000,000 a year by the age of 40. He said he made both goals with the $1,000,000 goal coming just a few days before his 40th birthday. He also went on to tell a story about him being in a bar and saying to himself how he could buy a round of drinks for everyone in the bar and not have a care in the world about it.

Green Monsta, you most likely meant no harm. I appreciate the hits -- I've had nearly 400,000 this year already. (I'll be in the business section of the UT either on Thursday or Friday.) Peace bud, no harm meant on both sides. Green Monsta, I owe you a yard of beer. (and I will gladly pay)
Yes, I'll stick around and share what I know. :)
Here's some info. I talked to Little Tommy last week. Laura, Tommy, Rick Moorten (note spelling) and Randy T. Hoag have NOT signed .. they have been offered postions with the KMYI morning show. It's a stay tuned kinda of thing.
KMYI-FM could be rebranded by Sept. 1. It won't be known as Star, but could become somthing else. The "my 94.1" moniker isn't working ...
Duncan and Mel move back to afternoons at 94.1. Midayer Cindy Spicer at the station is "moving" over to KUSS/US95.7 on Aug. 15.
Jack FM will have another morning show after Jeff and Jer leave the station. Stay Tuned!
OK folks, now that the dust is settled, resume normal broadcasting ....

Laura wrote in her diary that she leaves this PM for the DJ conference. Anyone know if they are all going? I think they usually all go together... :spock:
It must have only been her....and Rick. I think I've heard all the rest of them this AM and it's live, not "best of". Good.....points for a song today!

I will be shocked if Little Tommy, and Laura don't sign. They have been with the showgram forever. I know alot of people won't miss Laura!! Randy and Rick haven't been with them for that long, so if they don't go no big deal.

You all aren't gonna like me for this but---- I really like Laura and I have a feeling if I knew her in real life we would be friends. Don't hate me ya'll. What I don't understand is how in the name of JACK could she be making so little - or at least broke (-$60) if you were listening today if J,J and T make so dang much? Would they really be so mean as to leave her in the dust salary wise?
And anyways, where the heck are Greg and Sara?
Laura is making at least $100K. They live a high life standard. Takes the "nanny" to Hawaii. Nanny????? Give me a break!
Sara was on this morning, filling in for Laura.

a whois of that domain shows Tracy registered it just two weeks ago. This is hot off the presses!

I'm just wondering how Clear Channel can afford to get Jeff and Jer at 94.1. I'm guessing they had to match or exceed the $6+ million total they were getting with KFMB. It sounds like they are really trying to lowball Tommy, Laura, Rick, and Randy because of the amount they are paying J&J. I bet J&J feel a little bad about it. I wonder if we'll be able to hear any animosity during the showgram over the coming weeks as their show ends on 100.7. I can't figure out how they are going to make their money back given 94.1 is claiming J&J will be on with FEWER commercials. Fewer commercials? Does J&J realize they will now have to be on the air longer because of fewer commercials? Jeff and Jer LOVE commercials. The more there are, the less work and more breaks they get.
Tracy is throwing the dice on this one trying to lock in good talent at $1M a year for 5 years. If his new show is a good one and can pull listeners away from J&J at a mere fraction of the cost, Tracy will have really pulled it off.

Sometimes it's the billing than ratings. If a station can bill 10 million a year and only pay two million in labor ... that's eight million to the company line.
XETRA-AM 690 was (at one time) the biggest biller in $$$ over KFMB, KOGO, and other staitons. It was ranked near the bottom, but number one in the target demo: men 25-54 age group.
Jeff and Jer are twice blessed: they capture the audience for ladies across the spectrum .... and sometimes they are number one overall.
Plus, the bill (as in make money) for Midwest City Television, the parent company.
I don't report on salaries, however, if the ratio works out to 1/3 to the talent and their group ... that leaves 2/3 to the owner.
Not bad.

Jeff made a comment like "Oh that' s really newsworthy", and then Laura all pouty mumbles something about getting the boot from them... that they can waste time on this stuff, but they don't have room for her on their show. :dead: Wake Up Laura! Some people can't stand listening to you on the radio much less having to look at you too. I can stand her- she always makes me feel better about being me, but I know a LOT of you can't.
Remember yesterday she was saying that she caught the flu or a cold in New Orleans? This morning they just spoke with a lady who just came back from New Orleans also and had a raspy voice. So Laura asked her if she went to the casino and the lady said yes. So Laura's response was "Yeah, I thought so, you have the same smokey casino voice like me". Busted!

We know that J&J and crew weren't the ones to mention it, but come on now.
I am pretty sure because of the FCC, ALL radio stations DO have access to a "bleep" or something button, if they didn't want us to hear what the caller said.
So it seems pretty obvious to me that they DID want their listeners to hear where they are going to, they are professionals~that's why they make all the money that they do.
I personally think its kind of cool their pushing it~I enjoy listening again, like the fugitive, trying to find their clues. If I were their boss and they were mentioning my competition, I more than likely would have a problem with it though.

I know Christy (A very sweet girl by the way, just insecure) and she dumped him two days before their big trip when she caught him for the fourth time cheating on her. Notice how he hasn't mentioned her since he got back??

Anybody listened to the showgram this morning? I am curious who did what. They wrote down 6 thing each of them did that they were ashamed of. I had to leave the car when they had people call in to guess.
When they started that thing with people calling in with one word, I changed the station. I wanted to call up and say, "I hope you come up with better bits when you start at the other station!" Talk about lame.... :disa:

Did she leave her husband?

I don't know if she left her husband (or if she was back together with him to begin with) because even before they got engaged, he was seeing Sharlo and Christy at the same time. He supposedly was done with Sharlo when he asked her to marry him but continued seeing her anyway. Nice guy, huh? :2far:

Oh my gosh that is sad for all parties. Christy probly thought she could change him.
For the fourth time, was it all with Sharloe I wonder? That is some major drama. I feel bad for her, such a beautiful person. Im glad she did the right thing.

I thought someone said that Sharlow moved far away to begin anew with her husband. Isn't Christy the one that he co-signed/bought a new SUV for?
This might sound mean, but we've all heard the story about it being winter and a little boy comes across a snake who is almost frozen, the snake begs the little boy to pick him up and put him in his coat to keep him warm because it's so cold. The little boy refuses saying he's a snake and will bite him. The snake is VERY convincing and PROMISES the little boy "No I would never bite you, why would I bite you, you would be keeping me warm". So the little boy picks up the snake and places him inside his warm coat.....the snake bites him.
the little boy asks the snake "why did you bite me??
and
the snake answers "you knew I was a snake when you picked me up"
It's hard to feel sorry for anyone in this situation. I hope at least one of them got the SUV. :wow:
The embarrasing things from the show that I remember are:
1. somone peed in a parking lot, -?
2. someones kids were up past 11:30pm every night, -Jeff?
3. somone woke up in hotel room with pants pockets pulled out and $200 missing-Rick
4. someone stole their mom's deoderant-Randy
5. someone erased girlfriends phone or phone numbers-Tommy
6. someone made their friend take the blame so they could get out of something that they didn't want to do-?

Tommy is a great producer for the show, but in reality he is a low-life piece of s**t. He is a big womanizer and a borderline abusive one. When I listen to the show I just try to block out the fact that he is not a good person and just listen to what I hear only on the show. That is why you don't hear anywhere near as much about his relationships as you do with the other djs. It would too easily paint the true picture of who and what he is.

Hopefully she didn't quit her day job!
Luckily she didn't. She's regretting the events of the past year and a half right now. This is a woman who had a hard childhood growing up in Hawaii and was watching her little brother going through the same thing so she brought him to live with her and became his legal guardian taking on all financial responsibility for him to hopefully give him the stable life she didn't have. She also brought her father over here to help care for him after some serious health problems. I know she looks superficial, but she has one of the biggest hearts in anyone I know, always the first to come running when anybody needs anything. I think Little Tommy used his money to influence her with all kinds of promises of "the good life." She now sees there is no "good" life with a man like Little Tommy. :disa:

Christy's under the impression he took Sharloe, maybe an lame attempt to make her jealous in hopes she go back to him, again.

I feel bad for mentioning Sharloe's name. I shouldn't have and I apologize. I certainly didn't mean this to be an attack on her. Far from it. My mom always told me: "Just because someone says it, that doesn't make it true." What I know is Christy didn't go and she thought Sharloe did.

I can believe that. He IS relentless. He weasled his way into Christy's life when he met her, and she had a boyfriend at the time. They were working through some problems during that time and Little Tommy totally preyed on that, especially by way of winning over her little brother. I guess it takes someone like that to run one of the highest-rated shows in SD, someone who doesn't take no for an answer.

She's a very forgiving, non-judgemental person (which I think would explain why she kept taking Tommy back). That's just the way with first impressions we have of people. I don't think Tommy painted her in a very good light either on the air.

Guess that's one of his common tricks. He did the same thing trying to "win over" Sharloe's kids as well. But in the end I think everyone evntually figures out his game...which is why he has such a horrible reputation in the radio industry and no friends. (Sigh) Off my soapbox now....

I'm just sorry that I learned a very powerful lesson at someone else's expense. I got the impression that the whole "showgram" was not too keen on Christy. Not because of what they said, but because of the way they said it. I wish her all the happiness in the future. Success is the best revenge!

Cherubiel- I think you hit the nail on the head. Why is Tommy such a good producer?? He doesn't take no for an answer. He goes after what he wants in his personnal life and business life. I think he needs to learn how to keep them apart. It is fine to be like that for business, he's had a lot of good people on the radio. But, take it out of your personnal life and quit being such a jerk. :bash:

I'm not trying to be an a**hole, this guy really knows how to get what he wants, or so it sounds. But It takes two to tango...after "being cheated on 3 times" now a 4th!!
One week we here "the love of his life is Sharloe", then not two weeks later Christy is up on the websight next to her brand new Navagater, two weeks after that we read "she said YES" to a $30,000 ring. You don't think Sharloe was offered the same things? It's seems she was just waiting for him to really "break up" with her this time. I'm sure she wanted the fairytale just as much as he did. Stripping can't be a life long aspiration.
Don't get me wrong, i'm not saying anyone deserves ill treatment, but there is some responsibility to be taken here....

You know, there was a song version of that snake story...I don't remember who sang it, but it was a screamy voiced singer..."take me in, oh, Tender Woman...Take me in for heaven's sake...Take me in oh tender womann....said the snake."
We all ought to start requesting J&J play that song. LOL!
I guess it's nice that J&J carry Laura since she was part of the original show...but...she was a whole different addition to the show at that time. She wasn't quite so, oh, what shall we say, "self-absorbed and petty?" I kinda viewed her as sort of an almost airheaded party girl, but basically a person who didn't take themselves too seriously.
I think she has changed over the years. I liked Bess, Sara on the Aira, and some of the other gals that have come and gone on the show better than Laura, sorry, friends of Laura....

"Radio and Records" that morning show billed TEN MILLION DOLLARS for the station -- and the owners. TEN MILLION DOLLARS.
I was wrong with this estimation; the entire station KFMB-FM 100.7 billed ten million dollars ... Jeff and Jer have a significant impact on the entire billing.

Since when was Laura part of the original show???
I don't remember her on 95.9.
KKOS was at 95.9, based in Carlsbad. It became KUPR at 95.7, then sold to Nationwide ... and then ... (dude, where's my radio station) ... and then ... Magic 95.7 .. and then ..... KUSS-FM 95.7.
Jeff and Jer were on Y-95. I believe Laura came on board when the team were at KKLQ-FM/106.5. .... and then .....

Laura didn't join the team until Q106. The only origional part of the morning show IS Jeff and Jer. Tommy came on at Y95 a bit later. Laura and Randy joined at Q106. Rick joined at Star, albeit not an on-air personality until almost the end of the Star days, more like Tracy Johnson, poppin in once in a while. Tracy also joined at Q106. Basically, Jeff and Jer and Tommy dug their heels into San Diego radio at B100. It wasn't until they left to go to Q106 that they developed the crew you know and love.
So in summary, Laura was far from an origional. Honestly, I wish she would leave. Randy does more for the show than she does, and that ain't sayin much!

After paying Jeff and Jer their 6 million and Tommy his 1 million, and the entire sales staff their commissions on selling ad time, that doesn't leave much left for the big wigs. I can now see why Tracy was forced to do something about it. It was costing more and more each time J&J's contracts were up and I'm guessing the commercial revenue $$ per commercial were not going up by as much. This is most likely why we are now listening to 6 - 10 minute blocks of commercials especially during prime drive to work time.
