Yup. I also remember SNL doing a skit making fun of it. They made a advert for "Crystal Gravy" Kevon Nelon and Julia Sweeney dipped turkey legs into a clear goo.

They made a good point, some things should not be clear.

I remember having a huge stack of 20 ounce bottles of the stuff sitting in my office for months. We're talking hundreds of bottles. I was program director at a radio station at the time and we were supposed to give it away at station promotions. It was hard to give the stuff away.
