:throw: i'm trying to call best buy regarding a reward zone certificate. there is NO option to talk to a human if you call 888-bestbuy. if you hit zero repeatedly, you just get "sorry. you seem to be having problems. call back later bi$ch!"
my local store doesn't open until 10 and i'm getting more and more pissed as i try every option in the system!!!!

lol that sucks. I remember when they let me try the card for free......same problem. Couldn't get a human for the life of me. So I emailed them... got a response like 4 days later or something.

Finally reached someone. Get this. It takes 7-10 for reward zone certificates to get to me via E-MAIL once they are sent!!! I can order a car on e-Bay and get it in less time. grrrr....

here's the second BB scenarioi had to clear up...
i bought a tv 8 weeks ago at bb and price-matched it with CC. they had a $200 GC offer if you spend X amount at BB. i asked the employee if i would still get the card if i pricematched. sure...but let me check with my manager. manager....let's read the fine print. yeah. no problem. you're good.
so i buy the thing and they ring it in w/o the price match. i get the receipt, notice it and they re-ring it. so i have two receipts, the original and the price-matching one. and when i picked up the tv a couple weeks ago i had them print me up a receipt for me to send in for the cards. so that's three times they assured me that i'd qualify.
so i get a letter on thursday...you're not eligible for the rebate because you price-matched. wtf? so i call, go through help line hall and am given a case number and instructed to call the store.
i talked to the manager and he was all...uh...it's not applicable on price-match items.
me....no. sorry. i was told the cards are good and it's your mistake and you will take care of it.
him....i can give you $100 credit and 10% off your next purchase.
i'm buying the HD direct tv receiver and a OA antenna. that's about $450 so the 10% would be $45. which still leaves me $55 short of what i was expecting. should i take it or tell them to eff off and give me what i was expecting?

It has gotten pretty rare, indeed. That's why when I find a place that REALLY values the customer, I latch onto it like a magnet on steel. (One place that comes to mind is Discount Tire.)

I wouldnt accept it...fight fight fight. Honestly, Worst Buy has a unwritten policy of deny, deny, deny! If you threaten the manager to report it to the district manager, suddenly they say, "ok, here you go."

Yeah...I rarely ask questions to employees at compusa and bestbuy, and even then it's to find the product I want on their shelves.
My point of view is to know what you want before going in, and the only reason why you're shopping there is that you don't want to wait for shipping if you buy it online. A few times I went in to get a hands-on look at stuff, but even then I know what product or range of products I'm looking for. I expect that the employees won't treat me right, so I don't expect them to know anything and won't help them make a sale. Sorry if that's a generalization, but that's apparently how it works these days.
