Went to Pizza Hut for dinner, walked out with my change after picking up my pizza. Got home and put money in wallet and noticed some red lettering around the Federal Reserve seal. Took a closer look and it's stamped "Track This Bill! www.wheresgeorge.com"
So I take a look. Pretty neat site... I guess I'm a bit behnd the times though, as it has been operating since '98.
Doh, I really should get out more often.

Pretty fun site. I marked a couple bills about 2 years ago. Never got any hits...
Although, technically, marking on money is illegal :shifty:

Actually markign money is legal as long as as it is not defaced in a way that it cannot be reissued.
Banks mark moeny all the time. If you ever see red on the edge of a bill, it was in an ATM at some point.

i got one of these where's george marked bills a few years ago and checked them to see where they have been. it was tracked and listed as being in several states and various places soon before it had reached me. really fun when you're bored.
i haven't gotten any of those marked bills since.

Legal or not, I dislike having graffiti on my money. I have recieved several of the "where's george" bills, and I always ink out the website with a black pen.
If we let this spread too far, then pretty soon damn near every bill in our walets will have some website logo stamped on it.
