Bud Selig rules on steroids and baseball

3 strikes and you're out:

1st offense: 50 game suspension
2nd offense: 100 game suspension
3rd offense: lifetime suspension

what do you think? why not one strike and you're out for life?
for one thing, i don't like the idea that a bunch of records in the record books possibly have been tainted by steroid use. steriods are artificial, and if a player on performance enhancing drugs breaks a record that steals from the guy down one in the book who was steriod-free and earned the record fair and square.

1 strike is a bit excessive... cause sometimes these idiots take them without knowing... i agree with you.. if a guy is caught... any records should not be given to him... *cough* barry bonds *cough*

That is pretty severe - and I like that. Miss 1/3 of a season for a first offense is quite a bit. But a zero (well low at least) tolerance enviornment will benefit the game.
