I am sure most people here remember the famous scene in Planes, Trains, and Automobiles where John Candy and Steve Martin agree to share a room with a single bed after being stranded while trying to get home. In the morning, Steve Martin wakes up cuddled against John Candy....when asked where his hands were, Steve Martin replied that his hands were between two pillows. To which John Candy yelled, Those arent pillows! (I didnt do the scene justice but you get the drift.)

I am sure that the people involved in this will kill me if they ever find this out but here goes. This story was relayed to me by my brother about friends of the family. Apparently, the father had a business trip which was bringing him close to where his son went to school. As a result, he told his son to meet him there for the weekend so they could visit. At the last minute, the daughter decided that she wanted to come as well and so they got her a ticket. Unfortunately, they were unable to change the hotel reservations and were left with 2 beds for 3 people. From what I was told, the father cant stay still in bed and snores loud enough to wake the dead so the brother and sister decided to sleep in the same bed together.

Suffice it to say, the daughter was more than surprised when her brother reached over in his sleep, grabbed her* and then pulled himself up against her so that he was spooning with her. Apparently she tried to wake him up by shaking him and then trying to push him away. When she started rousing him at first he snuggled in even more before suddenly realizing that he was not in bed with his girlfriend but rather his younger sister. My brother said the guy was more than embarassed by this but made some comment that at least she had woken up because if she hadnt noticed it could have become much more embarassing in the morning.

When I heard it all I could think of was that scene from Planes, Trains and Automobiles and how awkward it must have been for this guy in the morning.

* I should probably clarify that he supposedly only grabbed her shoulder....although countless people may disagree with the likelihood of that.

That's so sad. And funny.

Imagine how disturbing it must be for the two of them. Oh man... Hahaha.
