my work laptop is on the work domain. at home, i have a network which is a workgroup. i cannot change any of my work network configurations; is it possible that i can get on my home workgroup with my laptop?
the way i have it set up right now, i can access the internet via wireless connection at home, but i cannot see any file shares.
any help would be much appreciated.
thanks!

You have to set up an account for the home computer so you could access the drive. My brother and I have different workgroup names and he need to create an username so I could access the share folders/printer.

Probably not, but it depends on your OS - if you have W2K or older, you can try setting up a LOCAL account on your work machine with the same name & password as a machine on the workgroup. You can almost certainly use those credentials to access the machine that has the same username, but probably not other machines.
If you have XP on your laptop, you're probably out of luck, since XP also incorporates the machine's security ID into the username & password, so it will know you're not the same user as the workgroup machine.
Your best bet is to create a share on your work machine, and then connect to THAT from the workgroup using the ID & PW from your work machine - do 'connect as different user' on a workgroup machine, then enter the id as 'workdomain\workID' and your password as the password. That'll allow you to dump files from the workgroup machine onto your work machine.
