Putting together a new Athlon system. I put everything together, hooked it all up, plugged in the PSU to the outlet. Nothing! No juice. I tried 2 diff power supplies and 3 diff power cords. Am I not grounding something properly or what? It's really quite a mystery. Tried both Antec and Thermaltake PSU's, so not some cheap crappy stuff.
Athlon 3200+
Epox nVidia 3 Ultra mobo
GeForce 6600GT
NEC DVD-RW
Maxtor HD (IDE)

I'm sorry if this is a dumb question, but did you turn on the PSU? There is a switch on the PSU that you need to turn on...
Again, sorry if it sounds stupid, but it's best to get that out of the equation.

Yep, I turned it on. Was talking to some people at work and one suggested that maybe I have the power/led pins from the case to the mobo messed up. I will double check that later. Does a PSU turn on if it's not connected to anything? Mine didn't, but I'm not sure if that's a safety feature or what.

at minimum to get your computer to 'turn on' u need to have the following plugged in correctly:
pwr_sw --- this is a 2 or 3 pin jumper that connects to the "front panel" area of mobo it connects the switch on the case to the motherboard.
the 20pin 12V supply to the motherboard.. the big one coming from power supply.
at this point, if nothing works, then you've got what seems like a bad motherboard... or 3 bad power supplies
good luck,

Yeah, that is what I'm having to conclude now. Gonna strip it all out and put everything back slowly. I hate RMAing, but oh well.

Well I'm an idiot. :D
Turns out that when I stuffed the case wires in a corner to put in the motheboard, I forgot to unstuff the system power wire. Everything working fine now. Damn, it's always something simple that gets you.
Thanks to everyone for their help.
