Anyone used this stuff, like the bunt cake pan, the cupcake pan, etc?

Yes, they work fine. Just be careful not to exceed the max temp in the oven for the product.

yes, I have a set of them, but let me just say this...for baking,nothing beats using Quality seasoned pans and stones that you've had forever.

i saw some of those silicone ones at costco and really wanted to try it out... they seem super cool... i never really make muffins/cupcakes though

i've seen them for a while now on the market, but "regular" non-stick pans have worked well for me in the past, and i love to bake with them.

I have a few that I received as gifts - they work really well. They're floppy (as you would expect) so you have to put them on top of a cookie sheet or something to get them in & out of the oven. But I'm a really big fan of the Silpat (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00067TCI8/qid=1115645484/sr=1-1/ref=) baking sheet. NOTHING sticks to it. Bake cookies on it & you can actually just slide them off onto a plate - no more spatula needed.

I don't trust them personally. something about baking in plastic/silicon that sounds really disturbing...heck i don't trust non-stick surfaces as is.

i am a silicone chemist and I formulate that stuff. i have tons of it and my wife loves it. don't believe the max temps on the products. some of them say 800°F. yeah right. don't take it over 400°F and you'll be fine.


I don't trust them personally. something about baking in plastic/silicon that sounds really disturbing...heck i don't trust non-stick surfaces as is.
it's a polymer, not elemental silicon like computer chips. and it's not plastic, it's rubber. silicone is safer than any organic polymer or metal. it is used very heavily in the health care industry for exactly that reason.

we don't make implant products for anything longer than 29 days (which are considered non-permanent). our company has never made material for implants of any kind. that was Dow Corning with the breast implants and they paid through the nose when those lawsuits first broke.

the bakeware feels nothing like boobies. sorry.

we do make gel for bra cups (http://www.bragel.com/products/nubra.php) (exterior). they feel like boobies. you can keep one on your desk and feel it anytime you want. :D
