So I think Don Cheadle should be considered the actor of the decade. Just looking at the great movies he's made since 2000 says 2 things about him:
1) He's an amazing actor
2) He's very good at choosing the films he does
Look at the great movies he's done in the last 5 years:
Ocean's Twelve (2004)
After the Sunset (2004)
Hotel Rwanda (2004)
Crash (2004)
The United States of Leland (2003)
Ocean's Eleven (2001)
Traffic (2000)
and those are just the ones I've seen. Maybe some of the others are great. Between Crash, Hotel Rwanda, Traffic, and United States of Leland I think he's proven himself to be an excellent actor for the ages. I am a huge fan.

I liked his performance during his short stint on ER as well. Thought it was well done and was a bit disappointed when they wrote him out.

Hmmm you think Oceans 11 and 12 were good? If anything I think they subtract from his portfolio. The rest though were great. I do think though he's just starting out so I am interested to see what he might do next.

I thought his performance in 11 was good, as was the movie in general. 12 basically stunk, but I think it was the stories fault, not the actors. They just tried to make it too cute...

One of my fav actors. Never half asses a job and isn't as "typed" as Samuel or some of the other actors. What about his breakthrough performance in Boogie Nights? His character stood out in that great cast. Great movie, btw. The little details were amazing. I think that any decent story with that kind of attention to detail, will make for a good movie.

both movies were entertaining but a ended up being a bit of a glut of celebrities. Cheadle was great in the first one with that accent. And I think the movie all around was good. He was only in the second for probably 10 minutes total since he had to share the screen with so many stars. I don't think it hurt him at all. He continued a good character into a second movie.
After the Sunset was no gem either and he was also in that for only 5 minutes. I think the ones that really speak for his greatness are Hotel Rwanda, US of Leland, Traffic, and Crash. In the last 5 years I don't think there are any other actors that have made 4 excellent movies like that.

I just saw another movie that reinforces that Don Cheadle is an amazing actor. A Lesson Before Dying is a must see movie. It's excellent. See it. It's on DVD and they have it at Blockbuster. See it.

A truely good actor is not noticed in a film. You see Jack Nicholson or Tom Cruise, you think of the actor up there. When you see a movie with Don Cheadle in it, you see the charachter he is playing. That is also why he does not get as much hype.
