You need some Jewish Penicilin - chicken soup with matzo balls.

or make this drink, take before bed:

Tea - whatever non flavored one floats your boat, Earl Grey HOT if you are a trekkie
Honey - 2 tsp.
Lemon Juice - a few squirts
1/4 cup Brandy

Start by picking a LARGE glass/mug. Then unfurl your tea bag into whatever drink container you have chosen. Boil some water and the pour into mug until its approximately half way filled. Let tea seep for a while. Add lemon juice and honey....stir. Add Brandy...stir. Take mug up to bed, hold nose and down it. When you wake up the next morning, you should feel better.

FYI - take this in lieu of medicine. Alcohol and medicine dont mix.

hmmm, if you don't have a runny nose/cough, you might have strep throat.

check these strep throat symptoms:

-Sore throat that comes on rapidly.
-Fever, sometimes greater than 102° F.
-Back of the throat that is raw and red.
-White pus on tonsils.
-Tender, high lymph nodes in neck.
-Absence of cough, stuffy nose, or other upper-respiratory symptoms.
Although by definition strep throat is caused by the Streptococcus pyogenes bug, other bacteria can occasionally invade the throat and cause similar symptoms. Other possible invaders: staphylococcus, neisseria, and Hemophilus influenzae.

People usually develop strep throat when their immune systems are not functioning at their peak. Stress, overwork, exhaustion, and fights with viral infections can weaken the body's defenses and set up attacks of strep throat. And like other throat infections, strep throat also tends to occur during the colder months.

I do also have the runny nose and cough. I'm stuffy as all get out.

I checked when I first started feeling bad and there were was no white pus on the tonsils. Plus, the sore throat came and went yesterday. So I'm pretty sure that it isn't strep...thankfully.

I just got back from a music tour with my students and there is a concert that my students are giving this weekend, so I'm pretty sure it's a combination of stress and being tired that has made me sick.

It's like I have the accelerated cold/flu. Yesterday was the sore throat (gone today), today it's aches and a cough. Both days I've been stuffy and congested...but can't take decongetants because of my high blood pressure. :) Oh well...tough it out I suppose.

I always get that crap once the nice weather hits. It's kind of like my body giving up after defending itself all winter long.

Yeah, there's something nasty going around late this year. I am just getting over it myself. It took me out for about a week. Look at your throat in the mirror with a flashlight to see if your throat is red or there is crap on your tonsils. If not then you're probably fine. You're going to feel pretty crappy for about a week though...
