A lowdown, dirty shame...

From the pictures in the second link, there is at least one '67 in there. That's the one I want.

This is enough to make my husband cry in his sleep. Where is the ba*tard who abandoned all his children?

I don't mind that they've been sitting there all this time. I just don't want to him screw them up for some grand art project. They need to be restored and worshiped.

I don't think it's a waste... look at all of those cars, untouched for years & years! Let them sit - they aren't going anywhere. Kind of a shame they weren't covered, but not a huge deal.

Now if the building burned down or Peter Max actually painted them, then yeah, that would be a waste of some really nice cars. But as they are, they're pretty safe.

I disagree. Letting them rust away is not better then if they were cared for.

Most of them are painted - look at some of the pictures in the second link. :eek3:

Mea Culpa - According to "Ponch" (the guy who took the digitalcorvettes.com pics):
"That is painted paper taped to the side of each car. Apparently it is a "swatch" of how the car is to look once the paint work is completed."

I thought the bodies themselves had actually been painted...

Leave it to some eccentric hippie artist to dis all these beautiful cars. What a douchebag! Corvettes aren't pieces of canvas you jerk off!

Dude - don't hold back or sugarcoat your opinion - tell us how you really feel about this! :winkie: :duh:

I'm with you - and thanks in advance for letting me have a little fun with your response. I don't even have anything against "eccentric hippie artist" types, provided they're CAR GUYS!

:stupid:

The car is the work of art. It's like adding varnish to antique furniture... so wrong on so many levels. I don't think he will follow through on his threat. Those early vettes are atucally going up in value every year.

No, don't think of it that way...

They're 'appreciating'. There you go. I think that for the moment, they're better off as a complete collection that no one is touching.

Imagine the rat's nests in some of them by now. Plus, rats and mice love wiring and vacuum hose...
