After months of putting it off, several failed shopping trips, and then waiting for the new 2006 3 series to finally hit the dealerships...we finally replaced my wife's car. We went from a 1998 BMW 323cic (convertible for those who dont know the naming system) to a nice 330i. Of course, Murphys law dictated that we didnt get a 2006 model that we had waited for. In fact, we didnt even get a 2005 or any brand new one. We ended up getting a Certified Pre Owned 2002.

Its pretty nicely equipped and in great condition. Steel Blue Metallic with grey leather interior. It has both the Sports and Premium packages, Steptronic transmission and a bunch of other things I cant think of right now. Not exactly what we wanted but we decided that saving money was the best choice over having a brand new car. (Pricing out the new car as we wanted it was pushing in on the $45k mark.)

I really wish we kept the convertible, but given that its not my car and I cannot drive stick anymore, the truth of the matter was that getting rid of it was the best choice.

So what was the cost of the '02, if you don't mind saying?

What's the warranty on a certified used car from BMW?

It's actually a pretty good warranty. You get whatever's left of the original 4 year/50k mile full warranty, with maintenance included. You also get an additional 2 years/50k (100k total) warranty on the powertrain.

Btw, ufcrusher, congrats on the car!

i hope they don't mean 2 years/100k miles from the date of purchase. Some dealers do that.

nono...it's 2 additional years and 50k additional miles from the expiration of the 4 year/50k mile warranty. the extra cpo warranty doesn't cover "wear and tear" items or maintenance though.
