pfffffffffffft....
YUK.
Carrie Who? that's what people will be saying in 6 months....
in the mean time, Clive Davis wants Bo to record for him, and he is a HOT guy...
yeh, he's gonna go a hell of alot further that Miss Country Crooner..I'd bet money on that-did anyone else notice that almost ALL of the songs she picked were a little bit country? Yeh, John Stevens took crap for being a crooner, Josh Gracin took the heat for being stuck in his mode for every song too (country)..This girl is gonna jump head first into a field that is saturated while sweet Bo will be rockin till the cows come home with record after record of classic rock..I'd bet money on it..
BO GOT ROBBED.

Josh Gracin has a hit song out on the radio already. ;)
And sure almost all her songs had a little bit country in it. Same as his all had a (little?) bit rock in it. That's what they are. heh

Josh Gracin was a cutie-I hope he does well..what's the song he has out and is it any good?

heh Yeah, but not like that anymore I guess. :heh:
"Nothin To Lose" is the song I am talking about. I love it. Fast, upbeat tempo, very cool country song. ;)

but now.... Carrie is locked into that winner's recording contract and Bo... Bo is free to shop around and see what/where he wants to go with this.
was Bo awesome singing with Lynryd Skynyrd last night or what? he so rocks. :thumb:

He totally rocked that performance. But I thought most of them did pretty well last night.
I was thinking the same thing, Nickel. Poor carrie is stuck having to do whatever crappy songs they come up with for her first album. Bo should have a little bit more freedom.

I noticed Constatine was trying to get 15 more minutes of fame. Yeah his voice was crappy the last several attempts. he started good i thought. poor song choice or too much practice at home dry humping the camera.

Although both contestants performed well, I still think Bo was the better of the two. I am sure he will still get a great contract though.

I totally agree that in 6 months people will be saying Carrie who?? And Bo will be rocking for years to come. He got a car and everyone knows who he is. He will do fine. It will be just like Clay and Rueben. Ruben won but Clay is the star. Carrie will go the way of all the other blond cuties. Shakin & showin it went her records stop selling. :)

i never really watched the show, but from the pics I've seen I thought Bo looked like a homeless guy.

Ruben won but Clay is the star.
Come to the Black neighborhoods... and I'm sure that you'll get a different opinion on that issue. :heh:
Both are stars in their "own worlds"... Ruben is just as big (and definitely a "bigger" star) as Clay.
Neither one of them are going to be LEGENDS though... Tell both of them to come back and see us 30 years from now to prove this.

I'm a huge country fan too. That's why I wanted BO
to win. :sing: She doesn't have anything that 15 other counrty singers dont already have. Bo had it all. But thats okay. He will be just fine. Probably they both will. But Bo will last a little longer . :woohoo:

I think that even in the black neighborhoods Fantasia has shoved Rueben out the door. She was ,I think, way better than he was. So Clay may not be big in
the same places as Fantasia but by the same note he is popular in places she isn't. R :wavey2: ueben is just dead in the water. Everyone is doing better then him.

I'm gonna disagree with you here...
You are only as good (and known) as your current "hit record"...
Fantasia has her record out now.. so she's in the spotlight. Did Clay push Kelly Clarkson aside? Honestly, in "da hood" we don't hear from either of those two... and I'd doubt that we'd hear from the girl who won this time.
If Reuben came back with another "hot joint"... I dunno.. let him get with the right producers and BOOM he's right back in there at the top of the charts.
Basically... we're in different cultures, yet the one thing that is fairly constant... with these "newcomers" you are only as good as your last "hit". They still aren't "LEGENDS". Reuben isn't gonna take away Luther's job... and Clay ain't gonna take away whoever is at the top of that category.

Reuben's first album was a relative bomb, and didn't even have an opening week as high as Clay's or Fantasias.
Now, sure, he comes out with the right song, and boom there it is. But the point is, when you are the American Idol, you're screw with the kind of song you can come out with. Fantasia is different in that her voice is just made for those kinds of songs, and her #2 wasn't that good. But Clay was a better success, over all, then Reuben. I like Reuben, I think he's great, but it doesn't change the numbers any. Culture is irrelevent.

I'm not gonna argue this point... you guys can live in your own worlds and form your own opinions. Live and let live. :D
Oh, come on. How can we live if you won't argue. :argue: You will make life sooo dull. :wavey2:

Hmmm... interesting... LP has the power to edit our posts... without the "Edited by" stuff in there...
Hmmmm... interesting indeed. Thanks for at least fessin' up that you changed my post up there.
RiverWidow quoted part of what I actually said.... the rest of it was me disagreeing with your statement about "culture being irrelevant".
To me (and most of the hood) the SoundScan numbers don't mean anything... they are irrelevant. Many times, the "hot new" joint is played on the radio enough that some of us don't even bother buying it. Others have already downloaded the songs that they want and others have duped copies...
Either way... saying that someone's record "bombed" based on how many copies actually sold is a pointless arguement here. All that says to me is that more White folks bought Clay's album than Blacks and Whites (and others if they liked it) bought Reuben's album... This is the same way that many award shows make their choices and I don't always agree with them either.
Anyways... culture does matter in this case. Put Clay's current record in a store in the hood and I guarantee you that Reuben's current record sales will outpace it... for those who actually wanna buy it. I'm not gonna argue with yall that your "Idol" is a bigger star in your "listening culture"... but please, spare me that arguement that he is a bigger star based on his album sales...
I still stand behind what I said earlier... give Reuben the right producer who knows how to bring out his talent best, and he'll shine. Ok... that's all I feel like saying on this. Thank you... and good night.

But uh, Clay is a bigger star in sales. World wide, he has sold more. He has more bling. He is the bigger star. Sure, Reuben would kick ass with the right song. Clay is pretty limited to being kinda gay. But as a measure of success, I'm sorry, culture IS irrelevent, it's raw numbers. Clay sells more, tours more, is worth more. Talent and being downloaded a lot don't pay the bills.
I'm not even sure what you are arguing. I wouldn't expect Clay to sell against Reu in the hood. And I think Reu has more talent. Doesn't really matter. I mean, you're telling me Reu is a bigger star in places that don't buy his records. I'm not finding myself impressed with that.
Still, you might be surprised what the females in your neck of the woods are buying. Never underestimate the power and ability of a woman to fawn over a gay man.
As to the edit - well, yeah. I'm not GAM, but I got some powers. As you can see, I only use them to look really retarded.

Go back and read what I said (oh.. that's right, you can't since that part was erased...) I NEVER said that Reuben was a "bigger" star than Clay... only that he is BIGGER (which he is... put him up on a Health-o-meter scale if you don't believe so).
Heh... there is a difference.
And I'm still not gonna argue it... sorry, but the time has run out on that convo. :heh:
