Smart Shoes

Some of us have smart homes, many of us have smart phones, and soon you can have smart shoes.

These shoes are called Square Eyes and act as your exercise coach. If they determine that you have not done enough exercise, you are not permitted TV time that evening. The shoes contain an electronic pressure sensor and a tiny computer chip to record how many steps the wearer has taken in a day.

A wireless transmitter passes the information to a receiver connected to a television, and this decides how much evening viewing time the wearer deserves, based on the day's exertions. The design was inspired by a desire to combat the burgeoning waistlines among British teenagers.

Not a bad idea except that I tend to wear more then one pair of shoes in a day. One pair at work and a different pair at home. And when I do my martial arts workout I'm barefoot.

Yeah, what's to stop people from taking them off? heh I rarely wear shoes at home. lol

I'm in this boat as well. My tae kwon do instructor would look at me as if I were mad if I tried to enter the training area with shoes on. LOL

what a waste. Workout/jogging shoes are supposed to be replaced every 60-90 days. Can't we just do a little self management and go for a damn walk anymore?

every 2-3 months? who honestly does that?

toothbrushes are supposed to be replaced every 3 months too, and guess who thought that one up. ;)

had mine for about a year already

But in any case i'm sure i'll have a week's worth of tv time from my 2 hour workout... the shoes will beg me to watch tv
