I had a trip to Minneapolis this past week, traveling with a co-worker. The other guy arranged the rental car online at the Hertz web site, reserving a mid-sized car with their "NeverLost" (GPS mapping) system. (We had to travel about an hour west to Hutchinson, so it was a big help to guide us around.) When we got to the car in the #1 Gold section, the car didn't have the NeverLost, so we grabbed the paperwork and went the the oudoor agent there. She pointed to a sticky-note on the outside of the paperwork that apologized for not having a vehicle that met our request, and then suggested that he check at the counter to see if they might have any vehicles that had become available after the one that had been assigned to us. (He has ended up with an Expedition and a Lincoln in the past by requesting the NeverLost.) When he came out, he asked me to guess what vehicle he got. I guessed "a Lincoln?" and he said "Better." After a few guesses (and his replying "Better" on each one) I gave up and he showed me the contract: a Jaguar XJ8 (for the price of a mid-sized). We had a good time cruising around in that for the week. He let me drive for the second half of the time. :)
