Well... since we had a 3 day weekend and I didn't have much better to do, I guess I'll go and add a new mod to the HEMI!!! :D :wow:
Here they are folks... the TYC "Elegante" tail lights. I really like how they set off the truck. They definitely give it a different look (and I haven't seen any other Rams in my area with these exact same lights on.)

Here is kinda a "Before and After"...

I must say... it does change the look somewhat. :D

Nice, too bad it's on a Dodge. ;)
Nice shot with little DF. He looks just like my friends son and they both seem to like their dads' rides.

Not sure if I like it or not. Its not bad as far as tail lights today, but it seems a bit...a bit.. Hell, I dont know. If you like it, thats all that matters.
Out of curiousity, why did you bother to go with rails on the side of your bed? I always thought that was one of the weirdest thing people did to their trucks. I have never seen anyone actually use them to tie down things in their bed. Plus, it looks like you have a roll up tonneau cover anyway, so for most smaller objects you can probably just seal them in.
Edit - Ok, I decided. Definitely not my cup of tea. I dont care for the extra clear/white areas.

although i'm highly against the "altezza" type lights, it is an improvement off of the stock lights...so...UPGRADE!

The rails are pretty much more "chrome" to accent the truck... kinda as your eye goes from the chrome steps and then up to the wheel.
Also... that's my "country" side expressing itself... Growin' up... all the pickup trucks had rails. I just like the look of the tubular rails today. And no.. I don't use them to tie anything up (I have rings and hook straps under my tonneau cover for that. :heh: )
As far as the lights go... it's just "different". My vehicles have always been an "expression" of my taste. And I like being different than the others. :D

You do know that the original reason for rails in the back was to tie down extra items that you couldnt get with standard tie downs. Silly DF, tricks are for johns.

... ricing out a ram??? :puke:
altezzas never look good no matter what car/truck it is. stock lights actually looked normal
Definitely gives it some style.

Wow, you've had that Dodge for a while now. Most of them would have rusted away.

Yes... I do know that.
But when has "function" ever dictated "fashion" and "form". :heh:

I knew someone was gonna try to "fry the rice" here... :heh:
And no... that wasn't my inspiration for doing it.

Oh ye of little faith... Try as you might.. you can't get rid of the HEMI that easily. :heh:
Y'all sleepin on Dodge/Chrysler... and you keep forgetting that Daimler Benz still owns them and shares some of their "goodies" with them. The days of the "K Car" are long gone... so you betta recognize f00lio. :heh:
BTW... if I could have any car under $40K right now, it would be that Chrysler 300c (and maybe even the SRT-8 version although that one is more like $43K) Folks just don't give Dodge/Chrysler enough credit, but at least they give folks what they want (for the most part) and aren't scared to take chances (unlike some OTHER manufacturers.... like FURD... :pfft: )

Those definitely would make your car looks different. I would never put Altezza/TYC taillights on my car.

Is that a black thang? I mean that seriously. Down here in Atlanta the black folks seem to really be into that car in a big way. I will say this...the car does have a "tough" look to it.

it seems to be pretty popular with all 'minorities'. that's how it is here in so cal also, but then again, it's mostly minorities that live here.

Maybe so... the car was designed by a Black Man as well. :heh:
Pretty much like I said it before... it gives us what we want. Plenty of bling bling and zoom zoom at a nice price. :thumb:

i'm probably missing something, but are you referring to the actualy designer of the car or to something else? I would be very impressed if you knew the identity of someone who actually designed a car. that's rare. the last one i remember was the guy who did the re-design of the BMW 7 series that was not very well received.

Yup... Ralph Gilles/300C Designer

Taken from: http://www.canada.com/finance/moneywise/story.html?id=68a9a600-ccf7-4ecf-92ce-3a3d9c57b1dc
The 300-C, however, seems to have gotten it right.
A big car...with a big grill and a big V8 Hemi engine. Reviews have been ecstatic and purchasers are lining up to spend their money.
Ralph Gilles/300C Designer: "The challenge was to create an inspirational vehicle for the Chrysler group brand - a vehicle that would take it to the next level from all the sedans we did before."
The designer for the 300-C is a transplanted Montrealer. He admits the car is a bit of a throwback and goes against current design trends.
Ralph Gilles/300C Designer: "This car is fairly tall - much taller than the outgoing 300-M and for a designer, most want to make everything low and sleek so that was an advantage because the passengers sit more comfortably inside the cars."
Gilles and his team came up with other ways to manage the height. They've fitted really big wheels to the car and made the greenhouse...the windows...quite narrow. The return of the V8 Hemi pretty much zero's in on the target market.
Ralph Gilles/300C Designer: "I think the market is aimed at an enthusiast someone who likes luxurious transportation but the car is sporty. It has an athletic demeanor that's what I like about the formula. The 300 formula has always been about something cool, luxurious and fast."
The car is rear wheel drive...but on some of the models they've installed the Mercedes Benz developed traction control so even in the winter thaw cars should handle well.
Finally the price point works. Fixed at just above $30-thousand it's still an expensive car, but it's not out of the ballpark.
Here is another article on him...http://www.detnews.com/2003/autosconsumer/0304/25/g01-144569.htm
From dropout to Chrysler design whiz
Fifteen years ago, Ralph Gilles was a college dropout in Montreal, living in his parents' basement, watching cartoons, eating cereal and giving his father heartburn as he struggled to find a path in life.
Today, Gilles sometimes takes his cereal bowl to his garage in Lake Orion, stares at his 1997 Dodge Viper and takes stock. It was his love of the Viper that convinced him to reject offers from other automakers for a design job at Chrysler, where he has risen from sketching interiors to overseeing the birth of the Chrysler brand's new flagship vehicle: the 300C.

Hats off to Mr. Gillis - that's one nice design. I'm considering one of those for my next purchase.
Looks like he's my neighbor, too..
