So.. The Navy screwed up.. and instead of my Normal Paycheck.. Im getting about 10% of it this time around. Which is great considering the Percentage Im getting isnt even Close to my Rent amount. Luckily I have money that I stash away for such instances which can get really common in the Military.
Since they Like to go "Oh.. You owe us money.. Lets take that back in One Paycheck! " Done.
Eventhough in Reality.. I don't even OWE them money.. and they will end up having to pay it all back to me anyways in one Lump sum. Damn they are Quick.

well.. something doesn't make any sense there Thesifer.
you don't owe them money, but they say you do so they are taking practically your whole paycheck. then they will discover you didn't owe them money after all and give it back to you.
:2far:
do they do this often? can you give us anymore details as to why they do this?

It happens often, but not always to the same guy. It could be someone with an SS# one digit off that actually owes and it was an human error. Sometimes it is a batch error and a whole group gets overpaid or underpaid. Sometimes it's a little, sometimes a lot.
Sorry it happened to you, Thesifer. We have been there and done that once or twice ourselves.
I guess I could explain a little more. Sometimes, you get bonuses -- tdy, clothing allowances, crosstraining are examples of some. Sometimes, you might get overpaid, sometimes underpaid. Most of the time it's a clerical error. At least on this base. Sometimes it's a software glitch and it affects more than one person.

Well here is the deal....
I recently changed commands.. And when changing commands as a Single E-5.. I have to file Paperwork to continue my "Basic Allowance for Housing" .. So a Day after I found out I needed the paperwork.. I started to send it through the proper channels.. (The paperwork needed to be in by the 20th of May.. and It was around the 5th or so.. when I started to file) .. Anyhow.. By the time I get it back from my Chain of Command.. (like 7 days later) I have to take it over to the barracks. I take it there..
It has to run up through THEIR Chain of command now.. So .. That gets there on a Friday.. Which means they left it on their Desk until monday.. before they do anything with it .. So now its the 16th.. 5 Days Later.. I keep checking if its back or not.. It still isnt.. still "in their chain" So I finally get it back on monday the 23rd (needs to be in on the 20th..) So I go over the Personnel Support Detachment(PSD).. and turn it in .. But obviously It won't go through until the June 15th Payday.. (hopefully as long as they do their stuff right at PSD) So anyhow.. since I "technically" wasnt authorized BAH For the month of May.. then they will be taking it back for the End of the month Paycheck.. And they take it all at once out of one check.
So... If that story makes any sense? :) .. I do not OWE the government Any Money.. and they actually OWE me .. but I'm the one that gets screwed.. because they are the Government.. and I am just one person.
