if so, did you see the contestant, Dominic Ranz Ebarle Errazo, before spelling his word, blurt out in his best Napoleon Dynamite voice, "do the chickens have large talons?"
he did a great impression! the other kids giggled and the adults didn't have a clue.

Alas, I've been spoiled on spelling bees ever since that whacked-out homeschool kid that talked into her hands won. Once you've seen the top of the mountain, there's no reason to keep watching.

You watched a spelling bee. Wow you must have bored. Or did the batteries on the remote die on that channel?

Wow, I went to eBay this morning and saw a guy list a plextor drive with a "garenty" that it would not be dead on arrival (DOA).
Talk about guessing what a word should look like based on how it sounds.

Quite wrong in my case. I watched because there was a child from San Diego(Poway) in the contest and he was doing quite well. I enjoyed seeing him win. But the best part in my eyes was when he ran over to hug his father on National TV after his correct spelling of the last word. Not many middle schoolers would have done it. And but the way ,did anyone besides me notice
all the top 4 finishers were of Indian decent? :)

sorry I don't have ESPN. But I think it would have been fun to watch and test myself on the correct spelling.

Probably not. When it arrives DOA, he'll claim he never made any mention of offering a guarantee.... :P
