Saw this, but I need firewire/1394. Anyone know where to find something like that? Thanks.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'network', but I'm assuming you are really just wanting an IDE to Firewire/1394 cable? I don't think you will easily find a cable to do this, but there are a ton of enclosures that do this:

it sounds like he wants to put his hard drive on his network...
well, it's not that easy bub. You essentially want a NAS (network attached storage) and there are some NAS products coming on the market fairly recently.
Linksys, Buffalo, Western Digital, and Maxtor have NAS products you might want to take a look. If you already have an enclosure and don't want to spend money for a new hard drive, check out Linksys' Network Storage Link (http://www.linksys.com/products/product.asp?grid=35&scid=43&prid=640). It allows you to hook up your hard drive to the network. However, it does require you to format the hard drive.
So, hooking up your drive to the network is not as easy as using a ethernet cable...

Actually I am just upgrading my hard drive and wanted an easy way to transfer the data. I was just copying the link info that Meritline had used. I was hoping there was a firewire version since I don't have USB 2.0 and a USB 1.0 transfer of 50 gigs would be painful. No need for the enclosure since I am getting rid of the old drive. I will figure out a way using IDE. Thanks.

There's cheaper ways... daisy chain the new drive to the old drive and copy away.. or better yet hook up the new drive to the secondary IDE port and use Norton's Ghost to transition the data to the new drive.

Found this, but it's expensive.

That's it! Too bad it costs more than an external case... Thanks for all the help, in the future I will try to give a better explanation.
