Audie's first Communion was in May. She was beautiful in her dress. It was a beautiful day.

Fast forward two weeks. I went to pick up the pictures. Lisa, the coordinator was not in her office so I left a note for her to call me. that was Memorial day weekend. She called a couple days later -- she had sent all the pictures back because they looked like they had been "printed from a home computer." The 8x10 was like an 8x12 (the photographer's comment was to trim the picture). I thanked her for watching out for us and she told me to call her back when we got ours to see what happened. (the photographer was going to have them redone.)

Fast forward again to today.

I recieved the pictures. Grainy, the colors look almost pitted and washed out. Like the DPI was off (she was using what looked to be a traditional 35mm camera, but I know that some pro cameras are digital now) Audie totally looks washed out. She is totally not her normal color. She has a yellow undertone to her and not her normal pink. She took the pictures against a white back ground (she said it would look blue hued in the photos (And I had seen that done with the karate pics so I didn't think anything of that) You can't see her dress. The photo is peeling off the paper in spots. The color is different in every picture -- some even yellow. The wallet sized pictures are cut crooked and sloppy -- you can see where they used a paper cutter and chopped at the paper a couple times. The one of her recieving the Host is BLURRED, like she didn't have the camera in focus!!!!

It's not like that one can be retaken. The others, I could have gotten a better deal at Walmart for goodness sakes!

I was so glad to see these because I was going to send some with Mikey on Friday when he flies to IL to see my mom and dad.

 :bawl: :bawl: :mad2: :mad2:

Well if she was using a film camera, couldn't you just ask her to hand over the negatives so that you can take them elsewhere for a reprint? I assume she may give you some fuss about how it's her work and etc but if you pressed her hard I bet you'd be able to pull that.

If it's digital, then once again try and see if you can get the digital copies and get it done elsewhere. That sounds like a bad printing job to me. Hopefully the actual original is of better quality.

if it was digital, it sounds like 1) photographer sucked 2) whoever did digital post-processing sucked 3) the home printer that was used sucked. the weird blue and yellow hues in those photos can easily be fixed by knowing how to adjust white-balance.

sorry to hear that this happened to you. i know i'd be upset too.

that is awful. I would be so far up the photographers @$$ that she would not be able to sit down until she fixed it.

I am so sorry to hear that.
